I diagree with you when you say that the present squad could be in the top six with good management,our defence for a start is very poor and we need a playmaker as emre and dyer don’t seem to be doing it on the field.as for big sam I think he will do well for us.

W – thanks for the video – that episode was a disgrace.
It was even shown over here – as example of how bad things can get in a team.
You’re right Shearer told them to get in front of the cameras – and sort it out themselves.
The episode stained Newcastle’s good name.
BTW – Geordie fans would be surprised how well known and popular Newcastle are outside England.

At least Allardyce has good track record.
We need some success next season – top six is good enough – but then it will be how do we break into top 4.

I don’t know about anyone else but I feel really disillusioned by the last few seasons and just to go back to basics, build a solid platform and progress from there will be very refreshing. Allardyce can clear out the dead wood, give us a no-nonsense approach which we/he can build on in the coming years. You can’t get attractive football overnight.

W – think we will still have the clear-out in the summer but Sam could bring in 5-6 players – and not pay a whole lot for them – like he did at Bolton – that would be good for Newcastle.
