Heya am a toon supporter and Top six wont happen a seem to think top four because Arsenal seem to have an indifferent season most of the time and Liverpool never do well domestically so seems a good shot

John - admit we probably would need at least one center half - but now expect Sam to bring in 5-6 new players - and clear out all the deadwood (hopefully).

I diagree with you when you say that the present squad could be in the top six with good management, our defence for a start is very poor and we need a playmaker as emre and dyer don't seem to be doing it on the field.as for big sam I think he will do well for us.

W - thanks for the video - that episode was a disgrace.
It was even shown over here - as example of how bad things can get in a team.
You're right Shearer told them to get in front of the cameras - and sort it out themselves.
The episode stained Newcastle's good name.
BTW - Geordie fans would be surprised how well known and popular Newcastle are outside England.

Marksow - completely agree with your comments.
At least Allardyce has good track record.
We need some success next season - top six is good enough - but then it will be how do we break into top 4.
Must keep Owen.

I saw that - looks like he was the only one considered - and Sam's excited - as is Shepherd - think Sam's going to be good for us.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=I0f0ai5blUk souness cameo

the entertainers indeed.

Look at how Shearer handled it brilliantly.
I wish i was in that dressing room after that match. Nothing beats reality tv.
Wish i can fast forward in time to Shearer's manangerial era

I don't know about anyone else but I feel really disillusioned by the last few seasons and just to go back to basics, build a solid platform and progress from there will be very refreshing. Allardyce can clear out the dead wood, give us a no-nonsense approach which we/he can build on in the coming years. You can't get attractive football overnight.

Thanks for the change! Agree with your points. For once, Shepherd is doing something good. Hopefully the fans will also see the good in that.

W - think we will still have the clear-out in the summer but Sam could bring in 5-6 players - and not pay a whole lot for them - like he did at Bolton - that would be good for Newcastle.
