Here are the major news stories associated with the Newcastle club for today – in no particular order of priority.
We have almost signed Joey Barton – which is the big news today – but we also think there will be a flood of players arriving at Newcastle within the next week.
- The big news today is the almost complete transfer of Joey Barton to Newcastle. Joey chose Newcastle over West Ham and will be Sam’s first new signing. We also think there will be 5-6 new players flooding into Newcastle over the next week. Good deal for us as long as Joey behaves himself.
Joey Barton
- One of the players we think will be here very quickly is center back David Rosehnal of PSG and ther Czech Republic . A story is in SkySports that a deal may be imminent. It’s our understanding that Newcastle are bidding ₤3.3M and that David is only too keen to join Newcastle so this may be Sam’s next deal. His agent indicates that the deal is hours rather than days away. We also believe deals for Mark Viduka, Tal Ben Haim, Derek Boateng and Leighton Baines will not be far behind.
David Rosehnal
- News today that Sam Allardyce may be thinking of playing Kieron Dyer at right back next season. Not sure if this is true but we give our own analysis of this today. If the story is not true we think we should let Dyer go for ₤10M – but we think he would be good at right back.
Kieron Dyer
- An unfortunate story on Sibierski today which says that Sam Allardyce wanted to keep him at the club (not surprising since Sam was going after him at Bolton) but that Freddy Shepherd reneged on a two year contract offer that had been agreed between Antoine, Shepherd and Glenn Roeder. We think Antoine would have been good for another two years but Freddy’s suspect character rears its ugly head once again. Antoine speaks very well of the Newcastle fans who had a great relationship with him. We’ll always remember his 8 goals – they were really needed at the time.
Antoine Sibierski
We’d appreciate your comments on the above news stories.

Comment #1i feel sorry for sibs as he scored goals and always tried his best but i wouldn’t of given him a 2 year contract, because with the money from the takeover with hopefully european football in the season after next i think we will be looking at younger and better players than sibs.
gd luk to him at wigan

Comment #4The best game i ever saw Dyer play was for England at RB under Keegan. He was tremendous. Bear in mind though that he hates playing on the right of midfield never mind at the back. I think he’ll be sold.

Comment #6So, FFS has agreed to sell his holding to Mike Ashley on the grounds that he stays on as chairman. At least his mitts are prised away from the financial direction of the club and Ashley can now ensure we move forward DEBT-FREE, or at least not in anymore debt…as I assume the £200+mill he said he would spend on players over the next four years is coming out of his pockets and not the bank’s. Hopefully, Ashley will get sick of seeing the Fat One’s grubby little face around the premises and he’ll be out of the club fully within the next year or so!

Comment #10I think £7mill for Parker is good business for a player that seemed to only be capable of moving sideways or backwards. Sibierski did a good job for us, but I can’t help thinking that he is the sort of player that turns it on when he’s only got one season to impress and if we’d given him the two years, I think we may have seen a different, less-bothered side to him. The long and the short of it is that if we have aspirations to grandeur, we need better quality than Sib…although I do wish him good luck with Wigan…though not too much good luck as I can’t stand Dave Whelan!

Comment #13I doubt Tottenham would want Dyer, his wage bill is enormous compared to their highest earner.
Sad to see Sibs go, FFS you suck.

Comment #14roberto carlos for newcastle hell noooo.i wouldnt want such a guy at our club.i think he has reached his peak.am sure we can get some one younger and better than him.those players we have been linked with trust me they will be at newcastle next season.dyer will play at right back though it would have been better if we sold him.he is so injury pron and besides he is earning a fortune for survices not offered coz he spends most of the time nursing injuries
