Newcastle’s New Away Strip – Light Blue – Black Trimming

Here are the new away strips for Newcastle United for next season. Modeling the strips are Joey Barton, Michael Owen and of course Shay Given. They are in the light blue colors of Newcastle – and we think the new strip looks classy. The strips are a good contrast to our black and white stripes but look an awful lot like Manchester City’s strip..

Well I guess they didn’t go for the blue and white striped strips we had suggested a few weeks back – but these look pretty good. Let us know what you think.

Has anyone else noticed Owen never smiles on any photo opp?? I reckon he’s leaving, regardless of the PR stuff the Chronicle is running with today (“indications from his camp suggest he’ll be starting his 3rd season with United”)

By the way, the new away strip is obviously built upon last years European strip. The new keeper strip is hideous, no wonder Shay is in a huff with it!

Shocking! The keeper shirt is absolutely disgusting! Not keen on the light blue shirt either but i’ll probably buy it anyway!

That is a nasty colour combination for the goalkeeper 😀 I would also have preferred the away that was suggested on this site, but these new ones aren’t so bad.

Got the new home shirt, but definitely won’t be buying this one it’s horrible. Should of made the euro kit from last year the away kit. Probably better than last years Aston Villa look a like kit.

I do like the away goal shirt though, alot better than the home one.

owen’s kit looks different to barton’s. Barton’s is man city light blue, whereas owen’s is silvery blue. Is it just the light? the change goalie kit is very wierd

outfield yes, goaly looks like he is a Jam rolly-polly. On another note if we are signing Smith which I think not, then we should convert him into a right back. Decent pace, hard tackling, good in the air and has natural attacking abilities. Prefer him there han Dyer

    Oh my god!!!
    Rhubarb and custard for shay.
Can MO be any more miserable. (what a twat) Obviously staying next season but under duress. Nufc should clear up the whole situation and put him up for sale to the highest bidder. Bidding starts at 9Mill.

LS… Give it a rest, Owens facial expression could also be an ice cool finisher look. Ever seen commercial photo’s of Cantona. He never smiled either, but i bet ya he was happy at man utd. This is getting out of hands, so try to keep a lid on it boys.

Shay seems “excited” to be wearing the new strip, take a look at the shorts.

Im no huge Owen fan but give his facial expression a rest. If you took Shay’s expression and we thought he was holding us over a barrel you would all be up in arms…its apparent that the photographer made them do a serious look for the shot and Barton was probably confused at what he said so thats the reason for his raised eyebrow look…obviously they were not told to smile or say cheese.

Bloody hell, people are taking this whole Owen thing too far. You’ll end up pushing him out of the club by giving him the perfect excuse to leave… “the fans turned against me!”. Give it a rest already, and use your energies to get behind the team instead of slagging individual players off.

As for the strip, it’s fairly manky but it could’ve been a whole lot worse. Both goalkeeper kits are awful this season, though. The fruit salad comment is very appropriate. 😀

The colours don’t really bother me, but what does is the sizing.

If the the underchievers who wear them or the club don’t have the nouse to see that that they are way too big, even in the Shearer years the all looked like they were a bunch of boys playing in men’s (circa 1940 and 50’s strips) then there is really no point in commenting, other than to say bring back the late sixties/seventies sizes!!.

I know I know that’s the style today, but give me a break.

In days gone by with more form fitting gear it was harder for defenders to get a hold of you and if they did the referees were alert and the free or penalty kick was the result.o
