I’m a huge Smudger fan and I must admit I’m getting sick to the back teeth of all the to-ing and fro-ing… in many ways I bet Smudger is glad he’s out of the country whilst the madness carries on!! This rubbish weather isn’t helping my mood!!! As a Leeds fan I hope he’s still leaving Man U but in terms of where do I want him to end up, I don’t know, anywhere but down south – I couldn’t go watch him play it would be too costly and he’s a northerner through and through..
Basically guys, I think we should all grin and bear it and wait til something official turns up and try not to read the newspapers, whichever team you support. While all the millionaires are away the idiots at Fleet Streets are at play and it drives the fans mad….!!!

It seems newcastle have been in for every available striker, and when the striker goes somewhere else, well Newcastle were out bid, obviously!
Newcastle as it stands have 5 available strikers, ok everyone 5. So wake up and smell the coffee, newcastle need D________, fill in the blanks.
The Mirror is very handy if you run out of toilet roll, but becareful if you use it to wipe your backside, it is extrememly likely it will get published.

Something just didn’t ring true about the story probably because there were no quotes from anyone at newcastle or in the smith camp.
FYI – The Sunday mirror actually states that shepherd will be the only survivor

thank christ we are not getting smith. he is crap. can not score many goals so falls into the bracket of being a shit striker and is lost in mid field so he is shit there too. he has loads of grit and determination but that will only take a person so far. he is no good for us and is not as good as what we already have. thank god for midboro coming in with a very high amount of money for the donkey.

the fact is that we don’t need any more attacking midfielder…or striker…that area is already good… but we need defenders (one center back and 2 full backs) and one more defensive midfielder… i hope sam’s not after any of them (smith, gudjohnsen). all sam talks about is making players happy…with so many good (also young, talented) players that would be impossible…especially this season when we don’t have so many matches…maybe next season when we’ll be in champions league

i wouldn’t lose any sleep if we didn’t sign him, to be honest i never thought we would be signing him as the Mirror are getting as bad as the Sun for making crap up these days.

he’s a very similar player to scott parker, in a way. he’ll play his heart out for the club, run himself into the ground, but at the same time he won’t necessarily produce much on the pitch.

smith, like parker, is a grafter. you know he’ll put in a good shift for however long he’s on the pitch, he just lacks that final little touch of quality.

Once again a newspaper decides to make a bit of money from us by publishing crap! But we fall for it everytime.
It was obvious Smith hadn’t been signed by the lack of other papers following it up!
I never believe speculation until the player is signed. And that still goes for Rozenhal.
