Rozehnal Happy to Join Newcastle “A Huge Club”

Good news last night that David Rozehnal seems really excited to have joined Newcastle United – the same club as the legendary Alan Shearer played at – a huge club.
Well all Geordie fans will love to hear that.

David Rozehnal

The PSG and Czech Republic central defender is expected to travel to Newcastle this afternoon and be at St. James’ Park on Monday to have a medical and then sign a four year contract with Newcastle. Although late interest was shown by UEFA Cup Champions Sevilla – Rozehnal has decided to join a huge club with a great name (David’s words in italics). Newcastle have agreed a fee of about ₤3M with PSG and the 6’3” Czech central defender has admitted that he is excited to be joining a club with such a rich tradition as Newcastle United.

This is what David had to say to Sport on Saturday:

“It seems that it is very close, so far I have not signed anything though,” “If nothing special happens, then I will most likely move to Newcastle.

(Note: Wonder what he means by that?).

David went on:

“Certainly I am happy that Newcastle have won the race. I take it as an appreciation of my work. “After the unsuccessful season with PSG I take it as a kind of award and I am glad that it is exactly this club. “Newcastle have a rich history, great facilities and the club has a great name.
“My dream has always been to play in Spain, Nevertheless, when I was young I used to watch the Premier League as well.
“Manchester, Liverpool and Newcastle were all clubs I liked most. I remember the legendary Alan Shearer, Newcastle really are a huge club.”

Rozehnal’s agent Pavel Zika indicated yesterday that Toon boss Sam Allardyce was key to the player’s decision to move to Tyneside.
Pavel added:

“The interest of Newcastle has been on a long-term basis and very reputable,”
“He [Allardyce] was already interested in David when he was coaching Bolton.”

Well – this is good news on a Sunday morning – we like players who are excited to come to Newcastle – and that’s the only way it should be. As we’ve said before we feel Rozehnal has all the attributes to become an exceptional defender at Newcastle. We cannot wait to see how the Taylor Rozehnal defensive partnership turns out – great we hope.

At last the lad (Rozehnal) has came out and said he wants to join the TOON. and is supposed to be coming today. it also looks like Owen will stay for now coz the clubs that would be interested in him may be out of the running for certain reasons. Arsenal; upheaval and Wenger wants Anelka(good) Liverpool; are interested in another player(good) Man City; with the buy out of the club will hopefully hold things up for Sven who was keen on Owen plus Sven has said he is interested in Harwood (good news all round for us) lets hope he stays. he should have came out and said what he wanted to do though.
