magpie07 // Jun 20, 2007 at 11:01

“He is a regular starter for Senegal having appeared 10 times scoring a single goal.” = /

only starting 10 games doesn’t constitute to a regular starter seeings he has played 259 club games across 7 / 8 seasons. I would rather look at Luke young or even Geremi who played a lot of last season a right back for Chelsea, and seems on the way out and back to the smoggies!

BIG SAM IS STEALING MY IDEAS :O (geremi bit)

I've updated the story based on Sam's comments this morning to Sky Sports - so it's still days away - and yes - he hasn't even talked to Geremi yet. But maybe Sam could still tie up a deal before training starts next week and the squad jets off to Austria.

Sam Allardyce has said that the deal for Geremi is still a long way off from being completed and sounds like he hasn't even had chance to discuss the transfer with him yet!

i just read about drenthe...17 clubs from eng, ita, spa made an offer for him... he said he doesn't care where he goes as long as the club he's headed in plays a major role in the league...

It would be grand, if they were to announce Rozehnal, Geremi and Beye at the same time. All three of them would be great for Newcastle.

The reason the Rozehnal transfer hasnt been confirmed is because Sam wants to announce both Rozehnal and Geremi's transfers together and even Beye too if they can wrap it up soon. I also expect to see either Bent or Defoe at the start of the season, Im almost certain Owen or Martin will go and these will be the replacements if not then Bellamy will return

In Geremi you are getting a just above average player, but he is very loyal to the clubs he plays for. With Chelsea he was sometimes very good but others
he just wasn't the same player. All I can say is that the last two Chelsea players you got have proven to be ordinary buys Duffy who was great in his first two seasons with Chelsea but became increasingly injured. It was felt that these injuries have damaged him badly as a player. Scot Parker who was Charltons captain before he went to Chelsea and since with you also your captain, so as I have read, had a poor season with you and his own crowd barracking him and now I believe with West Ham. I was very surprised at that because he was very good with Chelsea but couldn't take the being only a squad player. I am sure you will miss him but it is good for the Hammers as I think they have a very good signing. Here is wishing Newcastle a good season. Sam will give some of your players a good kick up the backside if they don't perform.
