i think we all agree about heinze, wud b a fantastic signing as 1. hes cheap (4m) 2.hes a brilliant full back 3. SA wud love him cos hes tough out and good in the air 4.already proven in english football!
OBAFAN-totally agree about habib beye, i think your spot on, he wud b fantastic, and especially with heinze ant left back we wud hav full backs to match any team in the world.
i do think u are being fairly optimistic about riquelme, not a hope in hell well get him!!
NIGHTFALL-i totally disagree about gallas, hes not a very courageous defender, doesnt put his head where it hurts and is not fully committed, like defenders such as our taylor and chelseas terry! 2nd of all hes in it for the money, he left the champions even tho he was playin over 35 games a season, over half at centre back bcos they wudnt pay him £90,000 and i dont blame them.
and anyway why is he even being mentioned on this site-he wants to leave arsenal cos hes not satisfied with 3rd place! remind me agen where we came in the table last yr!!

£4M for Gabriele Heinze? Allardyce would be foolish to not take a flyer on this one. That £4M would be well spent on the LB, further strengthening the side. Though ManU would lose some depth with the move and it's not one that they have to make, unless possibly a partial for an Owen move?

Though I think another poster may be onto something in this thread, as the big signing that many on Tyneside have been clamouring for will come from La Liga and be a striker that would automatically be amongst the best in the EPL. Hence making Owen a bit expendable, I think Big Sam is starting to sense that he may very well be on his way out of SJP. I know that that isn't going to be a popular statement around here but it seems that it's what may be in the offing.

Valle, if ya notice with every signing so far the first thing they have said is that they were very impressed with Sams plans and that they want to be part of it, Sam is obviously planning for Newcastle to be fighting for the title within a couple of years where as Arsenal seem to be going the other way so i think Sam could persuade Gallas aswell. Thats what i think anyway .

I can't follow at the moment with all the rumours. I know that the newspapers like to start discussions like this, but I don't believe anything else unless I see the player being presented in a black and white shirt.

A week ago I was really pleased to read that the next Big Sam signing would be "Habib BEYE", since I read that article I haven't heard anything else about it. Then others were Hangeland, Hyypia, Quedrue, Edmilson, Gudjohnson, Baines, Shorey, Hutchinson, Diarra, and now they have started the stories Deco and Heintze. I don't mention all the names who were targets (?) for Big Sam, but there were a lot more.

What I would like to happen is the following things;
a) Sign Habib Beye (that will be a top 5 transfer in the PL next season)
b) Sell asap Ramage
c) Sign 2 more CB (Hyppia, ...)
d) Sign a good LB (Heintze)
e) Sign a creative midfield player (I prefer Riquelme above Deco, but if it would be Deco; it would be also fantastic)
f) Keep Martins and Owen and make new deals without stupid clauses in it!!!!

The only thing with Heinze when i saw him come into the MU team towards the end of the season was his defending not being as good as i remembered the season before, he was a bit sloppy and ragged but was still great going forward and probably still 10x better than what we have. Would still love to see him at LB for the TOON ... cant see it happening when you see the other teams linked to him tho...

Heinze, Shorey, Baines or Bridge... All have been linked and anyone of them can join for all i care, as long as we get one of them and soon!
Cockney Magpie:... I agree that Gallas would be great but did u actually take the time to read the article m8?, he wants to leave because he is not satfied with the fight for 3rd spot, so why in the world would he then join us?

Heinze looked good the frist season, but in my eyes he uses his elbows far too much.
If Sam manages to stop him from elbowing everything that moves it may be a good signing.
id still prefer Leighton Baines anyday.
