Gabriele Heinze Not Interested in Newcastle

Gabriele Heinze – who is looking to leave Manchester United this summer – is now looking to exercise a FIFA ruling which allows him to buy out the remaining two years of his contract with the club.

Newcastle United however, are not one of the clubs he has mentioned as being one of the important clubs interested in him.

Let’s look at what Heinze has been saying on his web-site.

Gabriele Heinze

The 29-year-old is set to play against Brazil in this weekend’s Copa America final and only after that will he decide whether to stay at Old Trafford. We think it is likely he will move on to pastures anew – but will not even be entertaining joining Newcastle.

This is what Gabriele said yesterday on his web-site:

“The interest in me from important teams such as Liverpool, Juventus and Real Madrid makes me feel proud,”“But I still don’t know what I’m going to do in the future and I’m going to start thinking about that after the Copa America,”

“I feel comfortable in Manchester and I’m very grateful for everything I’ve received there.”

Since Heinze must know of Newcastle’s interest I suppose we are not an important team – at least to Heinze. But we really believe we have no chance to get Gabriele and should be looking elsewhere for full backs. To be fair to Gabriele he has always stated he wants to play Champions League football and we just can’t offer him that.

Heinze has fallen behind Patrice Evra at Manchester but was selected ahead of the Frenchman for the FA Cup final and captained the side on occasions at the end of the campaign.

Full backs Newcastle have had a reported interest in this summer are Leighton Baines, Nicky Shorey, Wayne Bridge, Franck Queudrue and Luke Young. We still need two full backs and a center back to complete the squad along with a defensive midfielder – and we think Aldo Duscher would be just fine in that position. It would be good if we can bring in at least a couple of defenders in say a week or so -because the season starts on August 11th – which is a short four weeks away.

Comments always welcome.

Have to be realistic on this, and accept that this season we should create as solid a squad as we can to get up the league and back into Europe. Then next season, only then, should we go balistic with the spending and get pedigree. No quality player with good character and genuine ambition will join us right now regardless of how fruitful the tree looks. We need to show we have banked this potential. Go for Baines and Shorey ! Get Aldo, Deco if we can, leave edmilson, Gudjohnson as you cant have enough strikers, Beyes and finally Curtis Davis.

I quite like Queudrue, good left foot and great in the air, decent tackler (from what I remember). He’ll do until we find someone better once we get rid of Baba! Maybe Sam will turn him into a better player?! If he can turn Pederson into a half decent looking left back, then surely he can do it with FQ!

I see Reading are trying to sign Justin Hoyte i think he’d suite a Black & White Shirt if he’s available.

Did you get this off tribal football? no offense, but that is complete speculation.

    And you’re surprised? 🙂

We all knew this. He was quoted last week saying if he was to leave the Mancs it would be for another ‘super club’. It was always an ambitious move, a move that never looked likely.

    Next, please.

Why does he want to leave MAN U ?? Is it because he isnt good enough to always make the 1st team ??
Any ay if he doesnt want to come than fine by me . Other fish in the sea .
Any news Ed of Left back signings ? Ominously quiet on this front . I still like Shorey and or Baines despite so called lack of height . Maybe BSA has top foreign players in mind . I hope some one comes in soon

think everybody was waiting for that to be confirmed really.
i’d rather see baines with us, he’s a good defender, and young. if we could snap him up, he’d only get better.
he has already played with taylor at the back in the u21’s, milner aswell. he’d be a smart buy i think.

Seeing as Taylors going to be the future of NUFC see who he would most like to play alongside.
