When we first reported this story on Saturday – it was first reported in the nufc.com fan site.
It now looks like they were absolutely right – wherever they got their inside information from.
It was reported yesterday in the Sunday Sun that Duscher has indeed left – and is also being reported today.
Aldo Duscher
It looks like Aldo Duscher spent two days at Newcastle’s training ground in Benton – last Thursday and Friday – and it was very clear to all that he was not fit – and so apparently Duscher was dispatched home early from his scheduled 3 day trial. Not sure exactly how nufc.com got their information but credit to them for being ahead of everyone else on this one.
Newcastle United boss Sam Allardyce decided against offering terms to the Deportivo La Coruna midfielder Aldo Duscher – who would have cost nothing as a free agent – but as we understand it – Sam wasn’t even there on Friday but may have cast the eye over Aldo on Thursday. The 28-year-old came close to signing for Newcastle in a big-money move in 2005 – but has now lost his chance to join Sam’s revolution at Newcastle.
Well – we have to ask the obvious question – if Duscher has the talent – why couldn’t we take him and get him fit before the season started?
But maybe the fact that he turns up unfit at Newcastle for a trial tells Big Sam something about Aldo’s character and temperament. If that is the case – we have to trust Sam’s judgement on these things – it’s been so good in the past on players. Anyway that’s the obvious question that came to our minds about Duscher – it would still have been exciting to have signed him – for nothing.
What do you think ?

Comment #1No point wasting wages on players who are not good enough and he may create a bad morale amongst the players so we just have to trust Sam on this one but we definetly need another defensive midfielder to compete with Butt. Hopefully the rumours with Palacio going to Arsenal are true because theen there is no chance they will go for Oba.

Comment #3good on Sam for getting rid of him early, ok he may be a decent player but we have had enough of crocks (Marcellino) who just come here for the money. Maybe Toon are doing the same with him as they are with Edmilson, letting him recover/get fit and come in January.

Comment #4Good comments regarding the chaff and wheat but I would go for Taylor as captain with Shay as vice-captain. Look at how it transformed Kevin Nolan into a hugely influential player at Bolton when he was appointed captain at such a young age. I would never give the captaincy to a player who just joined but I agree with you that Barton is exactly the type of player we have needed for years in midfield who has ambition and will give his all in the black and white shirt.

Comment #5We think the rejection of Duscher reflects well on Sam and Newcastle – we’ll take only those players we think are ready for Newcastle and will give their all for the club – sounds good to me.

Comment #6There’s obviously something Sam didn’t like about Duscher because he did have a good name – but we will not just take anybody these days – even if they’re free.
