Stop worrying, if Barton is out for 6-7 weeks he will only miss 4 competitive matches. Better for it to happen now than mid season. At least we have some friendlies now to try other midfield combinations. Owen is only 10 days out and will be able to play soon again. Ameobi, Given and Milner were just precautions yesterday probably due to the fact you would think it would be safer for them to play against Juve at home then Carlisle away in soaking weather.

It appears that the injury jinx is with us once more.
Owen, Given, Ameobi, Dyer and Milner. With the exception of Milner, the others have a string of sicknotes behind them from last season. Are we in for more of the same.
Now Barton, about 6 weeks before he will kick a ball for us.
I dread listening to Sky Sports News in case we are told another one is down and out for X number of games.
I was looking forward to the season beginning, but now, to many shades of yesteryear again.
How much longer is this injury jinx going to go on. My time left watching the Black & Whites is limited, so who ever is responsible for this jinx, "WE ARE SORRY FOR WHATEVER WE HAVE DONE TO BE BLIGHTED LIKE THIS. FORGIVE US AND LET US SEE THE LIGHT AGAIN". Well i have said my prayers how about the rest of you. Why can we not have Divine intervention. Hugh Grant did!

We can always look on the brightside. If he is out for 7 weeks it means he will only be out for about 4 weeks of competitive football and that is only the 4 games against Bolton, Villa, Boro and Wigan so it's not a bad time for it to happen.

Honestly mate, you need to do your homework before writing this column. DABO has NEVER been to Newcastle, it would be like putting Tyson and Lewis back in the ring having DABO and BARTON on the same pitch.......
Surely you mean Duscher????
Us guys read these columns to be kept informed, not misinformed...............

It's worrying. The last thing we all want is another injury hit season and all the talk of Sam's revolutionary backroom care and tactics had me beleiving that all would be well...better anyway.

I suppose Owen and Shola have been out for a good long while and so a slight strain here and there could be expected. I'm not worried about Given and Milner yet either, they were there but Sam chose not to risk them...fine. The real worry has to be Barton's foot of course. We would manage, as always, but I for was was dreaming of getting off to a flyer and saw him as being a big part of that.

As far as the friendlies go the result was fine, especially with youngsters having a run out. The Celtic and Juventus games have to be a real litmus test; never mind how Sam talks about the result not mattreing they are big games.
