Yeah, nice finish…good to see Carroll and Martins can shoot with their left boot, Luques penalty was casual too….. made Buffon look a right tit.
Any comments on Luques overall performance? saw him against Celtic and though he had some great touches and goals he didn’t put himself about but I suppose it was a friendly. Would really like to see him do well at the Toon…..
    and prove Roeder wrong.

Hammy – Luque looked confident – guess that’s what we saw most of all – for the penalty he flicked on a great header to Milner when he had his back to the goal – Milner ran on to it and immediately was brought down – to me Luque looked class. You could see his confidence with the goal – we thought Solano (or Martins) would take it. Just think Sam is working his magic with Luque. Looks like he had just a tight groin – nothing serious. He got a nice round of applause when he went off – and was waving to the crowd – he didn’t look in any real pain at all. We do have more class than we think in this side – some of the youngsters were unbelievable in the second half – and against Juventus. Carroll is like Taylor – a big star in the making – you can just feel he’s just very good.

ObaFan – thanks – now I’ll have to do this for every game – there’s a lot of people view it – who couldn’t see the game .

Hammy, he still looks to be a lightweight, though no doubt his confidence is now running higher. He fought off Oba and wouldn’t give up the ball for the penalty insisting he would take it.

If he does get a run in the team, as opposed to the odd game or subs appearnce, not absolutely certain given we have Oba, Owen, Vuduka, Carroll and Ameobi; it should prove intersting to see how he handles being well and truly “handled” by some premiership centre half

    we’ll see….

Thanks for the clips Ed. How I wish I was at SJP – the atmosphere looked amazing!!

And by the way, is it possible to turn the comments section into a thread? It would make it easier for people to air their views, keep up with other opinions and most importantly discuss other peoples comments.

    Cheers man.

I dont think he would have came on even if they were up by 2. He would have probably gaffed a few in for the home team.

luque look calmed during his spot kick, carroll also showed his compusure and to beat the most expensive gk in the world must be a confident boost for both of them, dyer should score though and suprised2 ramage almost scored twice!

Craig – Andrew looks so good at only 18 years old – Sam must be really pleased with all the young players who played against Juventus and all looked the part.
For Carroll’s goal initially thought Buffon should have done better with Martins shot until I saw it again – Oba hit it like a missile.

I know Andy Carroll. He went to the same school as is. He also lived in Teams, Gateshead. Yet again where I used to live. So surprised to see him doing well he was never that good at 14, he’s always been alrite but never thought he’d be banging them in against the likes of Buffon. Plenty more to come from Big Andy guaranteed… Next Shearer??

Who set-up Oba in the build-up to Carroll’s goal? Was it Zogs? It was a nice pass an intelligent run.

Good work on the videos, if possible in the future show some more of the build-up, goal highlights never seem to show how the play started.

It was N’Zogbia – he had a great game – particularly in the second half – will try to get the best videos we can from now on – highlights would be best – not just the goals. We did show highlights for the Celtic game – but it’s what’s available.
