Gavrancic should be the brick of the back 4 we should get. He’s better equiped technically, leadership also as captain of Dynamo Kiev. A lot of european football every year and an ex-international. Roeder could have loan him in January.

Ashton…Drago too old? hes 31..and for a defender thats not too old….alot of people around here mention Hyppia and he will be 34 in october….It would be nice to have some world class type of defensive experience (like Drago’s and Serbia’s back 4 only giving up one goal in world cup qualifying…not saying hes in Nesta’s or Carvalho’s class…but he apparently knows how to get things done). You can say what you want…but the dude is not too old.

ASHTON – Drago is a quality player and its about time we had a decent pick of defenders to choose from, so i would sign him defo. we would then have cacapa, rozenhal, drago, enrique, carr, taylor, ramage, huntington, edgar. i would sell babayaro as he is no good. Got to say our defensive choices now are so much better than having moore, taylor, ramage, bramble, carr, babayaro and bernard.

ed- lets hope so mate, because i am now really looking forward to the start of the season. if we get these 2 in, we have better quality in defence than we have ever had before, i am sure that we will be a hard team to break down, not like last season, where we would roll over in the 2nd half, wigan, fulham, charlton spring to mind.
