Newcastle Young Star Carroll Sent On Loan to Preston

Newcastle’s 18 year old striker, Andy Carroll, who is rated very highly at Newcastle as a future big star, has joined Championship side Preston North End on a loan deal until January.

Andrew has linked-up with Paul Simpson’s team and could make his debut in their League Cup tie against Morecambe at Deepdale on Tuesday night.

We think this is a good move for Andrew as he needs games – to bring out the talent he has in abundance.

Andrew Carroll – 18 year-old superstar to be? – Buffon thinks so

6′ 4” Andrew put together a string of impressive displays and goals for Newcastle’s Reserves and Juniors and towards the end of last season looked impressive when introduced to the senior side. He scored a cracking goal against Juventus at St. James’ Park a couple of weeks ago and goalkeeper Buffon rated him as a very bright prospect for the future following the game. At that time the Juventus goalkeeper was impressed at how Andrew was able to hold the ball up and play it off in different ways to his team mates. It’s going to be a win-win for both Newcastle and Preston North End.

The Gateshead-born forward made his senior debut against Palermo in November and has has looked the part in pre-season at Newcastle. Oba Martins and Carroll together looked an excellent partnership and Oba has said he loves playing with Andy.

We’ll be following Andrew at Preston and this seems a very sensible move since he will still be available for the second half of the season if he is needed at the club. Andrew should get plenty of games at Preston once they realize just how good he is.

Perfect. I said recently that a good family club in the championship would be perfect for him. Preston will do fairly well in the championship and I am sure that he will score 15 goals if he plays for most of the season.

Let’s hope he learns his trade and grows in confidence. Good luck Andy 😉

hmm I remember there was said that only season long loans will be in England as the rules change… anyway it is good for andy and us he will play some first team football on regular basis and wish him all the best. we still have viduka, oba, owen, shola and smith so it should be enough covered area.

We should loan Lua Lua out too either this season or next season. He looks like he could potentially be a Aaron Lennon type of player. Very quick and direct, and skillful too for a young’ un, he will cause havoc once he builds his body up.

Oh and he’s left footed too! Or perhaps both feet from what I have seen of him.

Great chance to show what he has got. Hope his goals will make Preston a front runner for the Championship! The physical side of the Championship will toughened this young giant furthur, hopefully tough like Big Al!!

Erm… on the other hand, hopefully Preston or others will not bid for him permanently once they see how good he is actually. He belongs to NUFC!

Hopefully the other potential stars like Huntington and Edgar will get the same experience somewhere else.
