Never underestimate opponents, that will be the biggest enemy, over-confidence.

Then man i fear from Aston Villa is Martin O’Neill. Master tactican, he sure know he is facing a daunting task. Thats why he will try to close shop and prevent us from scoring. This will not be an easy game.

They have the players. It’s all depend on their gameplan and individual’s performance on the day.

We might be favourites to win, but don’t expect it to be as easy as Bolton 1st half. Martin is no Little Sam.

2-1 to NUFC. 1 from Milner and Martins each. Barry score late consolation.

Im really worried about Villa. They were forced to be more attacking on the opening day against Liverpool because they were in front of their own fans. They seem to me to be a more natural counter-attacking side, especially strong down the left hand side with a strong and quick CF. If we go a goal down will our side will recover from that?

ObaFan – i think they are still negotiating a new contract for Oba….the sooner the better. a win and a clean sheet would be great.

Everybody is talking about the Villa strikers will be after Carr, but I just think that Carr will not play; I think Cacapa will be in CB and Taylor will move to RB position.

My prediciton for Saturday is: 3-0 (Martins – Viduka – Martins).

@ Ed – How are things about the contract negotiations for Oba? Have they agreed something or is it still waiting and renegotiating?

Villa are a good side, and they do have pace at the back…Melberg was faster than owen last time they played eachother! Carr will get ripped appart and Carew is a great player…..look out! 3-1 villa!

2 up after 20 minutes, from Smith (head) and Martins ( breaks through villa defence and slots it under the keeper). Another 1 just before half time from a corner, possibly Taylor. Villa pull one back midway through second half, through an OG in off Carrs arse.

Owen (sub) from a penalty, and in the dying seconds of his NUFC career, Nobby puts a 25 yard free kick into the top left corner.

I think… Probably….. Maybe…

Villa is owned by the same guy who owns the Cleveland Browns in American Football, which is a sad side to own. Yea I am not sure why he isn’t spending the money for Villa. I thought he would…maybe he should just concentrate on one losing venture at a time. Villa isn’t terrible…but he hasn’t done anything really to help them at all. Cleveland is bottom of the barrel.

Villa’s back four have no speed. Martins should blaze past them…heck Viduka or Owen could probably blaze past them. 3-1 would be nice again.

Agree with Tom – everyone on the league knows about our full back situation by now and Agbonlahor and Young will be after Carr. Could be a baptism of fire for Enrique and Cacapa as well if Sam decides to play them.

However, if we have serious ambitions of winning the “second” league (i.e. finishing fifith) then Villa are one of our main competitors and we need to take three points when we are at home.

Other teams (Everton, Man City) are building momentum too and we can’t afford to drift off the pace.

So , only the second game but a “must win” already – which we will 2-1.

p.s. Did anyone else think Harper should have done better with the Bolton goal on saturday? He didn’t even look particularly arsed about letting it in. Interesting that Sam wants another keeper brought in.

we must make SJP a fortress again, i hope everyone is out in force on saturday… im hooping its a sell out.

i cant get down cuz i moved up to Scotland a few years ago, but when the transfer window shuts ill be down every other weekend…. i have my Nigerian flag ready so i hope Oba feels that little bit more loved.
