Owen in Good Hands With Dr. Muschaweck

Steve Harper and Alan Shearer have both been to Dr. Ulrike Muschaweck’s clinic in Munich and been operated on by the world renowned surgeon on hernias.

And Michael is at the clinic right now and will be assessed by the lady doctor today and then she will decide exactly what operation(s) Michael needs.

Dr. Muschaweck will then carry out those procedures today or tomorrow – and Michael will be well on the road to recovery.

Michael Owen – surgery in Germany today or tomorrow

Steve Harper and Alan Shearer both had hugely successful operations in Germany and have had no further problems at all. In fact Alan Shearer was playing a short 11 days following the operation. We do recall that Stephen Carr had a hernia done at the same time in Germany but Stephen took a few weeks to recover.

And Shearer said today:

“When I went to see her I was back playing on the 11th day.” “It’s amazing how much time she takes off your recovery.”

Steve Harper was also pleased to tell the Chronicle today:

“Michael Owen could not be in better hands as Dr. Muschaweck has a fantastic set-up.” “It is very professional and is world renowned, with state-of-the-art facilities.”

“And if my experience is anything to go by, Dr. Muschaweck will have Michael back fully fit and playing again in the shortest possible time.” “He will be assessed today and if it is a hernia it will be done in an hour.”

“I had a double hernia operation last November. One was done one day and the other the following day.” “But it is not rocket science as the hernia is simply popped back into place and stitched up.”

Of course there are all kinds of recovery times being cited about when Michael will be back but the very latest should be late October. Of course once we know what procedures Dr. Muschaweck carries out on Michael then we’ll be able to get a more accurate time frame of when Michael can return.

We think everybody should just forget about him playing for England in mid-October but we can almost guarantee there’ll be stories about that – once Michael has had the procedures.

Harper added:

“Mine was a double hernia and I was fit again in five weeks.” “But because Shay was injured and I played on, mine was way further down the line than Michael is at the moment.”“And don’t forget as a keeper I did not have to run about as much as a striker.”

So things are not looking too bad for Michael – the procedures he will get in Germany are fairly simple ones. We’ll keep our fingers crossed that Ulrike can weave her magic on Michael this time – and of course she will be aware she’s operating on a world class player. The fact that he plays for a top club like Newcastle United we trust will not unnerve her too much – just kidding 😀

Whats the rush to have Owen back when we have Martins? Let Owen fully recover and play some reserve games before calling him back to the first team.

It’s not panic stations yet with Viduka in such fine form. Slightly worrying that Martins seems to have forgotten where the goal is though. Hopefully he’ll be banging them in again soon though – City on Saturday wouldn’t be a bad time to start.

Martins couldn’t score in blu-bambu on current form, toonpipes. less of the crazy talk about bellers n’all – if we ever see that little toe-rag back at St. James’ again it’ll be too soon.
