We saw the article on Charles N’Zogbia when he zoomed up to 3rd place in the Actim index. So we’ve been looking at the index and we do know that Sam is very keen on the index to gage players performances.
So we’re going to take a lot more notice of this index from now on – and of course are only interested in Newcastle United players.
We think it’s very interesting to see where players position in the index.

Charles N’Zogbia - third most effective player in Premiership to date according to Actim ratings
First of all here’s what the Actim Index is – directly from their site.
Actim Stats are a collection of team, player and match statistics.
They are derived from all the actions that take place during a match, including goals, shots on target, corners, fouls, offsides, passes, tackles, blocks and clearances. The raw data can be used to generate a wide range of tables and statistics such as player profiles, team and player head-to-heads and form guides.
PA Sport gathers match data for every Barclays English Premier League, Coca-Cola Championship and Scottish Premier League game.
The data is gathered by two methods - real-time match analysis and the study of video footage. The real-time analysis is conducted by ex-professional footballers that report on action at the grounds as it happens. Further, more detailed analysis is obtained by studying videos of the matches.
Here are the tables that Actim Index keeps for the English Premier League and these are the latest as of 25th September, 2007.

Interesting that we have players across all the position groups. The Zog needs to use a mirror when he gets out the clippers. Kids these days.

See Zog is classed as midfield in the table although he’s generally played at fullback this season.
Not complaining, happy Enrique’s playing fullback now allowing Zog to play on wing.
Also expect to see Barton shoot up this table when he returns to fitness!

Tripp - good point on Zog’s hair
Hey - we were just as bad!

Lamsley Mag - yes we never though about that in putting the article together. I had problems with the HTML - but learning all the time.
If Zog was classed as defender - he’d be number 1 beating Ferdiannd by 22 points - maybe that would make the full French team selectors take note - what a player he’s been for us this season - hope it lasts all season
We agree about Barton - that’s why Sam was so keen on Joey.
