Mike Ashley to Buy Trophy Cabinet

Newcastle United Billionaire owner Mike Ashley says the club is not for sale, after freely admitting he is just loving life as a new fan of Newcastle United football club.

Looks like Mike cannot get enough of the passion that is Newcastle United, and he seems to be lapping it up.

So much so that Mike has recently decided to buy a trophy cabinet for the club – as a new strategic move in his overall strategy for Newcastle. Rumor has it he consulted with both Big Sam and Chris Mort before deciding on the move. 😀

Newcastle owner Mike Ashley – in somber mood, looks like we just conceded a goal

Mike bought the club in June, but there has been constant media speculation that he will be selling the club. Most of this rubbish has come from the gossip papers – which we tend to ignore.

The English billionaire businessman has dispelled the rumors by saying he wants to get a trophy cabinet and then start filling it with ……………..you guessed it – trophies.

Mike said today:

“For the record, this club is not for sale,” “Selling is just not on the agenda.”

“Yes, there have been plenty of people suggesting they want to buy the club off me already and the answer is always the same: ‘No!’”

“I didn’t buy Newcastle United to sell it. I bought this club to become part of its passion. And it has worked. I feel at home here already. I love the place, the club and especially the fans. Who wouldn’t?”

“I want to have fun and win some trophies.” “That’s the first aim – to get trophies in the cabinet. However, first of all we have to get a trophy cabinet!”

The Newcastle fans have taken to Mike big time since he made his first appearance at a game at Middlesbrough, wearing the famous black and white striped shirt. He can be seen regularly cheering on the team – just like any other supporter. Mike has now become a firm regular at St. James’ Park and can be seen enjoying the game – but always in his black and white strip.

Mike is like any other Newcastle fan – he yearns for a trophy and success – and hey – once we get a cabinet we’ll probably need to fill it.  But first things first and Mike has decided to first buy the cabinet – good thinking. 😀

Comments on how to fill the cabinet are very welcome.

Hey Ed. Did you see this article on Soccernet from Martin Jol?

    http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=474698&cc=5901

He’s right about one thing, Newcastle may not be in Tottenham’s league, especially Spurs don’t get out of that relegation zone.

I like how he mentions they are still in the Carling Cup. Like Spurs would have beaten Arsenal at home…Ha!

I didnt have too many ill feelings for Jol before now, (hate hate Spurs though)…but now I want the Toon to blast Spurs out of the water today and I hope Martin gets sacked immediately afterwards.

I say the first thing we put in that cabinet is Martin Jol’s head!

Makes sense to me. The law of attraction, be prepared and expecting trophies and they will come!

Keep Oba – yes but I just ignored it – it’s a bit stupid – think he’s trying to keep his job.

to be fair Jol is justifying his position – he’s right when he says we would love to be playing european football this season, Spurs have played some pretty good football over the last couple of seasons and have deservedly ended up ahead of the toon – however they look to be on a slide this season whilst we look to be improving. Lets hope we thrash them tonight to keep them in bottom 3
Bizarre that they want to replace Jol after he’s given spurs the best two seasons they’ve had for donkeys – then again i remember us lot saying Keegan couldnt take us any further back in the day and look what happened to us 🙁
    we’re a fickle lot 🙂

made my day that . great to hear the guy come out and say it , even better hearing its more based on fun and passion than buissnes , means he may be a bit more forthcomming with the cheque book ehh ? 😀
now he’s drawn that line under the carpet , its time to show our players and staff why the toon is so special .

Hopefully he plays wide right but I have a horrible feeling emre will be left side and nzog right or a 4 3 3 with emre in the middle with the 2 workers in midfield. in fairness to big sam milner has looked bit exhausted in recent weeks so maybe a rest is not the worst thing in the world for him.

Agree with Howie there, Milners been playing football since June last 2006 without a decent break. Im suprised that he has overlooked Rozenal again. Im looking forward to seeing Martins and Owen tho 😀
