Babayaro and Carr Still Out Injured

Taking a look at the injury situation which we do periodically, we notice we still have Carr and Babayaro out injured.

It turns out that Babayaro has now injured his back and hasn’t played for the Newcastle first team since early March, having nursed a strained hamstring for about 6 months.

Stephen Carr has been out injured since the Middlesbrough game on 26th August – that’s 11 weeks with an injury initially estimated at 3 weeks.

Celestine Babayaro – has been out injured since early March

Sam is well aware that a player’s value has to be measured by the number of games he is available for in a season. Babayaro and Carr are always injured and are two injury prone players we need to unload in January. Both their contracts run out in the summer and we feel sure that Sam will want to offload them from the wage bill in January, if he can get buyers (or takers) for the two of them.  We think Babayaro will resist moving before his contract is up in June, but we think Carr may want to move on if a suitable club comes in.

Big Sam talked about Babayaro today:

“Babayaro had a bit of a back problem which doesn’t relate to the other injury.”

But it’s obviously disappointing from his and our point of view.”

Here’s our current injury list from PhysioRoom.com along with return dates if available. Notice that there is still no return date for Faye, who injured his hamstring on Saturday. The injury has to settle down before the Newcastle medical staff can estimate a return date. We certainly hope it will not be long for Abdoulaye to come back.

A Faye Hamstring Injury no return date
Cacapa Knee Injury 24th Nov 07
S Given Groin Strain 24th Nov 07
P Ramage ACL Knee Injury Apr 08
S Carr Hamstring Injury 24th Nov 07
D Duff Ankle 8th Dec 07

Looks like the new Babayaro injury has just happened and he’s not yet back on the list. Hey, he did play a reserve game a week or two ago. Also looks like Cacapa is now officially on the injury list, and we have a sneaking suspicion he wasn’t fit to start against Portsmouth, where he looked terribly slow and sluggish.

Comments welcome.

Carr, Baba’, Ameobi, Pattison all need to go, we might make around 100.000£ if we sell them all 🙂 .

Why don’t we just cancel Baba’s contract? The bloke has done nothing but extract copious amounts of urine from the club and fans since day 1.

Leo: Sometimes It doesn’t matter what I see to do with my ToonVooDoo, there seems to be a much greater darker force at work. It is the great

That is fans of other clubs putting the mockers on us, preventing us from ever winning anything. Doesn’t put me off though…..

I’ll have a go with Torres and Keane as you have asked. If you know the words to the song, you will already know that Roy Keane will come to a sticky end with one of his dogs !!!

I agree leo once Duff is fully fit and back to his best ,we will have the best winger in the premership. Then everybody will stop saying we need a creative midfielder.

Alex – wouldnt be far from the truth there dear fellow…….we will over look the fact that you forgot about Ronaldo and Bowyer.

However, it depends on his attitude i reckon. Often players leaving big successfull clubs to go to to the likes of the Toon cant be arsed. Their heart is not in it….kinda like Duff when he fisrt came. A little anti-climactic.

Hopefully when he comes back he will be so frustrated about not playing he will be more up for it…….for a couple of weeks before he gets crocked again!
