Sam Needs Proper Team at Blackburn

We think one of the big reasons we have not done well in the last four games is that Sam is not picking the right team, and is playing players out of position too much.

We realize that some of our players, especially in defense, are struggling to come to grips with the great demands of the Premiership, so it doesn’t help the team if players are also playing in unaccustomed positions.

Sam Allardyce
– must start to play players in their best positions

We think Sam should pick players for their position and not try to accommodate players (like Smith as one example) by playing him out of position on the wing. Smith is not a winger.

We suggest the following team for Saturday and yes there could be one or two changes to this but we’d really like to see players playing their accustomed positions. Here’s the team we suggests in a 4-4-2 formation.

Taylor Faye Beye Enrique
Milner Butt (or Geremi or Smith) Emre (or Barton) N’Zogbia
Viduka (or Smith) Martins
Subs: Harper, Rozehnal, Cacapa, Smith, Ameobi

That team has players playing in their proper positions and we think that will do a lot to help the team on Saturday at Ewood Park, where a win would be a huge relief for most Magpie supporters, including us. 😀

What do you think? Let’s know your thoughts and ideas, especially for Saturday’s game – because we’ll have to take each game one at a time and do our very best in every single game from now on.

Comments always welcome.

we have a decent set of players and BSA has to get them playing in their normal positions and in a 4-4-2. slowly and steadily, with games, we will surely go places.

no more n’zogbia on the right or 4-3-3!

Why Taylor right back? TBH i’d rather see Carr there, maybe BS has got him fit now and I’d play Butt and Barton in CM if a 4-4-2 or

Butt Barton and Smith if 4-3-3 with Milner and N’zog on wings and viduka upfront, it just means Martins will be dropped 🙁

    Beye Faye Taylor/Roz Enrique
    Milner Barton Geremi N’Zogbia
    Martins Viduka
Subs: Harper Taylor/Roz Butt Emre Smith

Smith needs to be punished for not making things happen at any position. I dont like Butt in for Barton. HE IS TRASH! Hes a good lad to put in when w are up a goal and we need a defensive minded midfielder but he has no pace! Can anyone else see that?

Yes i agree with an article concerning players out of position.

Play them in their local position, and the foreign boy’s, are they understanding the english game on the pitch ?..A bright lad will pick up, he should not be told to do his job.

They have to learn the lingo. They make good money, and a good tutor will suffice. Happy day’s, Ascot7.

Logic is obviously not one of Sams strong points,
the team above gives the oppostion something to contend with – is that not the whole point of the exercise? I’m afraid BIG SAM is showing the traits of a BIG PUSSY!
PS Enrique didn’t look up to the task last week?

here we go a WINNING set up 🙂
    beye ,taylor,roz,enrique

Barton needs games to be at his best so we must persist with him
Butt has been our best player this year
Smith is a forward NOT a midfielder and he is No3 in the pecking order, i wish BS would tell him that.
Put the same team out when ever p[osible and the tide will turn.

Ed, if players were in proper positions, surely you would change Beye and Taylor around?

Also, no way should Smith start. To many calamities….and I think it would anger fans from the offset as there are players who have a more valid claim to be in the team…

but he can play only 1 halftime…tops…he’s got no stamina, he’s slow and doesn’t win any headers…plus lately he gave a lot of balls away…

I totally disagree with this whole premise that the defence is struggling because they are new to the PL and therefore have not coped.

The defence is poor now because they are always under pressure because we cant keep the ball!!!! Individually are defenders are excellent. Even the much slated Cacapa. No defence in the world would withstand the stupid tactics Sam Allardyce employs.

Ed, I’d be proud to see that team go out & do its thing. But I also reckon that the more Sam’s methods get questioned, the less likely he is to play the team that seems so obvious to the fans. What is a shame is that we’re improved on last year after 14 games & he’s being questioned like this.
Now is the time that the team/Sam needs “the greatest footy fans in the world” support, yet we are failing them.

ChrisL – you’re right – and I think the fans will support him Saturday and then next Wednesday when we have to get some result against the great Arsenal team. Fans are frustrated but they are still supporting the team. But I’m sure Chris Mort will ask for support for the game at home next Wednesday – but the players have to produce – we can turn this thing around.

Marty – totally agree that Geremi shouldnt be captain! I reckon either Shay (not ideal as he cant access all the players), or…..or…..erm….I dont know! No-one in midfield in my books is the right person, Owen is no longer worthy to captain our team, Oba I dont think is the right man. I reckon Roz might make a good captain, but I dont know exactly how good a leader he is.

Perhaps someone who comes in the Jan TX window (if anyone!!) might be worthy!?

Considering Blackburn usually play 4-4-2 i think we should go for a 4-5-1 to win the midfield.

Beye– Faye— Rozy(cacapa if fit)— Enrique

    —————–Viduka(or Smith)————–

subs: Harper, Taylor, Butt, Smith, Martins

went for one of the 2 target man cause they can hold the ball up for the midfield to score.

    With this we can win.

also agree with toon king regarding the formation for the blackburn game though. a good strong midfield would help us alot.

and no offence paul but everyone is entitled to their opinion on the team, thats why we’re here. to share views and ideas.
