Habib Beye – Adebayor Huge Threat Tonight

Habib Beye seems to talk to the press quite a lot at Newcastle, and he always has something interesting to say. Of course he was captain at last club, Marseilles in France

Today he talks to the Evening Chronicle and talks about one of Arsenal’s dangerous strikers, Emmanuel Adebayor, who has looked a great player this season, and who Beye has played against in France.

Habib Beye – Adebayor is a quality player

The Newcastle defender, who will probably line up again at center-back against Adebayor tonight, talked to the Evening Chronicle today:

“I have played against him in France when I was at Marseille and he was at Monaco, and I have played against him for Senegal in games against Togo, so he is a player that I know well.”

“He’s a very good player and he knows the Premier League very well now.” “Adebayor is quality player and he will be a big threat on the night.”

“He can be dangerous, but if we concentrated on just Emmanuel we would be wrong to do that.” “Arsenal have many quality international players and they must be looked after with care.”

United have picked up just a solitary point from their last 15 available, and that was the lucky draw away at Sunderland. We are in dire need of points, starting tonight, but Arsenal are unbeaten in the last 8 months in the Premiership. So what do we make of that statistic? It has to be that it’s time the London giants were beaten.   😀

Beye continued:

“We need to win a big game to get things going again.” “And Arsenal is a huge game for us. Everybody knows the importance.”

“It is about how well we play tonight. If we all work hard for each other then we can win this.” “The fans will be behind us tonight, I’m sure.”

“We saw that at Blackburn and we have to deliver something for them.” “It’s important for us to do well. We played with more confidence in our last game, but we didn’t have any luck.”

“We need clean sheets now. The problem against Blackburn wasn’t creating chances, it was the goals we conceded.”

Beye has played well during Newcastle’s poor run, and has effectively been drafted in as an emergency center-back with Faye, Taylor and Cacapa all being injured. He’s now looking a good player, but he’ll have to be at his very best tonight, against the Arsenal stars, especially Adebayor. It’s now a short 6 hours, before we’ll start to find that out.
