Sam Allardyce is holding a behind-the-scenes friendly today, as he attempts to help some of our injured players gain some match practice.

Damien Duff – will play today in friendly behind closed doors
Players expected to play in the game include Cacapa, Abdoulaye Faye, Damien Duff, Shola Ameobi and Lance Davids, who we reported a couple of days ago is on trial at Newcastle United from Swedish club Djurgarden, following a similar arrangement with Blackburn Rovers.
Damien Duff will not feature at all against Fulham this Saturday, as the medical staff want the Irishman to build up his strength before he finally returns to first team action. We have to remember that Duff’s foot injury was career threatening, and we have to believe Damien is very relieved that he pulled through this injury ordeal.
It will be interesting to see what happens to the South African right sided midfielder, Lance Davids. He is due to join up with South Africa for the African nations Cup in January, and can play right-back or right-wing.
Comments welcome.

Even Hovland and Per Egil Flo are also mean to be on trial.
