Fulham vs Newcastle: Teams – Taylor Injured

SAM Allardyce makes just one change to the side which beat Birmingham City at St.James’ Park last week with Steven Taylor missing out because of injury and that means a recall for Brazilian defender Claudio Cacapa after six weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring problem.

That’s not particularly good news for Newcastle since Cacapa is lacking match practice, but he is due a good display following his poor play against Portsmouth. Let’s hope he’s solid at the back with Rozehnal. Newcastle will again start in a 4-3-3 formation with James Milner, Oba Martins and Alan Smith forming the three attacking players. Former Newcastle star Aaron Hughes skippers the home side. Aaron played more than 250 times for Newcastle.

TEAMS

Fulham: Anti Niemi, Carlos Bocanegra, Dejan Stefanovic, David Healy, Steven Davis, Aaron Hughes (c), Elliot Omozusi, Clint Dempsey, Hameur Bouazza, Simon Davies, Danny Murphy
Subs: Tony Warner, Seol Ki-Hyeon, Alexey Smertin, Shefki Kuqi, Chris Baird

Newcastle United: Shay Given, Habib Beye, Charles N’Zogbia, David Rozehnal, Claudio C50capa, Nicky Butt, Geremi (c), Joey Barton, James Milner, Oba Martins, Alan Smith
Subs: Steve Harper, Jose Enrique, Emre, Mark Viduka, David Edgar

Referee: Howard Webb
Attendance: To be announced

Don’t know – just said he was out injured – this could be bad for us. Cacapa hasn’t played for 6 weeks – since the Portsmouth game 🙁

been a stiffled 1st half, looking like a snore draw and BSA’s clean sheet but if we make the right change we could easily win this.

Butt or Geremi off for Emre maybe?

i hope for more balance.. most attacks coming from the left. not 4-3-3 not 4-4-2.. very very skewed that’s all i can say.
