Habib Beye – loves playing and living in Newcastle

And he really likes it. Habib talked to the Evening Chronicle today about just what he likes about it at Newcastle – and it seems like almost everything. 😀

Habib said today:

“Against Fulham we want to continue our good work for the fans.” “If we beat them we can look forward to the Christmas games.” “And after three good performances in a row it would be wrong not to continue the way we are playing.”

“After Birmingham I was pleased for them because they went crazy and it was great to see.” “I am feeling very good in this team and very good in this town because of them. I love the place. They are incredible fans.”

“I asked the fans to make as much noise as they could because they help us so much.”

It appears like Beye has taken to Newcastle like a duck to water and like his African team-mates Abdoulaye Faye, Geremi and Oba Martins, seems very happy to be labeled a Geordie. Beye has also played very well in our last few games, and of course scored the winner last week in the last minute. A nice time to get his first goal for the club.

Beye continued:

“The Newcastle fans are noisier and more passionate than anywhere I have played – and that is home and away.” “A lot of people come to the stadium to represent the city and the area.”

“But in Marseille a lot of people travel from far, like from Paris or outside the area.” “It’s different to Marseille. Every week the stadium is full and that’s great.”

It was all about hard work in the last three games.” “We lost at Blackburn but we recovered against Arsenal and Birmingham.” “Birmingham scored first in the last game and we needed energy to come back.”

“I think we found lots of energy and scored at the right times.” “If you score on 91 or 92 minutes there is no better time to do it because the opposition know they have barely any time to reply.” “We lost against Portsmouth and Liverpool and confidence was low, but we have some back now.”

Habib Beye is certainly a likable player, and he starting to play very well for the club and making the right-back position his own. Hey, maybe Habib can get Newcastle another goal today, that would be very good, and another win would be even better.

Beye has been an excellent signing and is a very clever player,he is great at reading the game and even when he has played in central defense he looked good.

I really like Beye. He’s obviously a solid defender but he also adds some potency to the right side of the pitch with his overlaps.
