The official Swindon Town Web Site is reporting this morning that their young defender Ben Tozer will travel to St. James’ Park this morning for talks with Newcastle United, after Swindon Town agreed a fee with the North East giants of around £1.1M.
Ben Tozer – in contract talks with Newcastle this morning
The 17-year old has featured in seven first team games for The Robins so far this season and has shown tremendous promise during his brief spell with the club. Last week’s FA Youth Cup game with Barnsley saw the Premier League scouts flock to The County Ground once again with the highly-rated youngster a much-sought after prospect.
But Newcastle United have moved quickly and the club has now agreed a transfer fee with Newcastle United. Tozer was not included in the match day squad against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday and will travel North with his agent on Monday to discuss personal terms ahead of a proposed permanent switch to Newcastle United. We’re sure there will be not hitches in these contract talks.
We reported on Saturday evening that rumors were swirling around Swindon that Newcastle United had done a deal for Ben, and we verified that was the case yesterday, when Swindon Town announced on their web-site the rumors were indeed true.
Ben looks a great prospect, and he will be the first through the door at Newcastle United in January. We expect a formal announcement from the club later today or tomorrow morning.

Comment #2There certainly was alot of news about him but i was thinking why would sam sign someone who failed a trial when he was at bolton, baheng hasnt played any first team games so its hard for him to improve immensely.
