Geremi Says Team Starting To Come Together

Just a great interview on Newcastle World TV today, where you get some idea why Big Sam plumped for Geremi to be captain of the club. Geremi comes over as an experienced pro and a real leader, who is down to earth and laughed a lot during the interview.

Geremi – comes across as a seasoned pro

It turns out that Sam is taking the players today for a Christmas lunch and he was interviewed in mid-morning today.

Newcastle captain Geremi says that Newcastle will certainly be out for revenge during this weekend’s St. James’ Park showdown with bottom of the league Derby County, and a win would be a good Christmas present for Newcastle’s wonderful fans.

Geremi says during the interview that when you bring eleven players in from everywhere, it’s going to take time to bed them down to be a cohesive unit, but there are now very good signs they are starting to play together more as a team. He also mentioned the lads see quite a lot of each other, and have knitted together very well.

Geremi thinks Newcastle have shown good commitment over the last few games and the quality shown by the lads against Arsenal was first class. He seems absolutely sure everything will come together for the team.

It’s a great interview – not sure if this will work – but here is a link to the interview. However, we believe you need to be a Newcastle World Member for this to work.

Whatever he says in interviews im still greatly disapointed with Geremi as a player and Captain for NUFC. He dosnt play good at all, and he isnt a leader on the pitch, how could he be when his own game leaves so much to be desired.

I had a dream Geremi and a little child were my taxi drivers the other night…strange like. and Valle, what you talking about? just because he hasnt scored a 40 yarder or created 20 goals doesnt mean he isnt doing his job. he is quietly going about it while trying to orangise the team. where are you from?

Ed you should put up a report about our behind closed doors game against the Smoggies yesterday.

I only know that we lost 4-1, Duff scored again and Ameobi, Enrique and the Duke played for a full 90 mins.

You cant bench your captain and that is the reason we havent seen nzogbia and milner together on the wings.

I watched the interview and i think he came across well however it is time for him to greatly improve his performances on the pitch if he wants to stay in the team. He misses a lot of tackles and puts alot of passes stray. For me he does what Butt does but not as well and i dont think we should have them both in the team cos too negative.

Also a strange choice for captain, i think Given deserved it for the loyalty he’s shown us. Doesnt matter that he’s in goal because the likes of Geremi can still be as vocal as they want and organise outfield, they dont need the captains armband to do that.

yeah there was a practice game yesterday with Boro and we gut humped 4-1. Duffy scored again which is a good sign and Taylor, Faye, Enrique, Viduka, Ameobi all played.

that’s all i know ………. there is a shirt article on NUFC, http://www.nufc.com/ , and they also mention it on Sky Sports http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_2991334,00.html

i dont think geremi is good enough, like butt, he gives the ball up to easily. we need to improve in the future for them positions.

Bill F, I really don’t think Geremi’s job is to pass the ball to the opposition on a regular basis but if it is then you’re right – he’s doing it magnificently.
