After watching the tremendous Blackburn Arsenal game on Tuesday evening, there surely must be some young players at Arsenal, who Newcastle could either buy, or get to the club on loan in January. We would stand more chance of an initial loan deal.
Sam Allardyce – who one should I choose?
Getting a player on loan, who then does well, always gives the club a chance to eventually sign them permanently and the class on display in the Arsenal side on Tuesday was almost unbelievable.
Here are 4 players we think Arsenal could at least let go out on loan in January, just so they would be playing Premiership football. Surely these youngsters can’t all be happy not playing football.
The short pieces on the players are courtesy of the official Arsenal.com Web Site.
Abou Diaby
Abou is a graduate of the famous Clairefontaine Academy in Paris and captained France Under-19s to success in the European Championship of 2005. The tall, powerful midfielder was signed from Auxerre in January 2006 but at the end of that season suffered a nasty ankle injury at Sunderland. It kept him sidelined until January 2007 but two months later he made his debut for the French national side and by the end of the season he was back to his combative self in central midfield.
Lassana Diarra
Lassana is comfortable playing in midfield or defence has spent the last two seasons with Chelsea, where he collected a Carling Cup winner’s medal in February this year after playing in the final against the Gunners. Awarded individual accolades of Young Player of the Year by both former clubs, Le Havre (2004) and Chelsea (2006), Diarra has gone on to play for France in their European 2008 qualifying campaign.
Alexandre Song
Alexandre returned to the Club following a successful loan spell at Charlton Athletic last season. The Cameroonian youngster joined the Addicks in January on his return from the Under-20 African Cup of Nations in Congo. But despite a string of impressive performances Alex couldn’t save Alan Pardew’s team from relegation to the Championship. The young midfielder arrived at Arsenal in the summer of 2005 after a successful trial. Alex, who can operate in midfield or defense, has made 16 appearances for the Gunners in his fledging career but will be hoping to cement a regular place this season.
Nicklas Bendtner
Nicklas returned from his loan season at Birmingham City as a more mature and seasoned player. He left for the Midlands with a record of 22 goals in 27 goals in the Arsenal reserve team. He added to his developing reputation with 13 goals as Steve Bruce’s side lifted the Championship trophy. Strong, tall and powerful he can lead the line but also possesses a deft touch. The Dane is in his fourth year with Arsenal after joining from FC Copenhagen in 2004. Last season he won his first cap against Poland — and celebrated with a debut goal.
What do you think?

Comment #41This Story is just a column filler. I’d rather read about cooking than this boredom!!!
We would like to be just as acceptable as a footballing team as Arsenal – not bowing down to them and trying to loan their players. There is literally hundreds of players out there from numerous leagues who could make the grade in the English game. It’s about time we started purchasing more young chaps!

Comment #42ToonKing Song and Diarra are not “shite” and you will see this for yourself in a year or so…come to think of it, you only had to watch their performance against Blackburn to know that they both have masses of potential. Diarra has been showing i since Chelsea, and Arsene Wenger has proved everyone wrong yet again by keeping Song in the team when the fans were calling for his head. I remember Arsenal fans saying stuff like “he is so s**t!” “get him off the team” etc etc.
Now i hear them saying “Song is great” “Song is going to be really good” etc etc
