Newcastle To Give Christmas Present To Fans

Newcastle manager Sam Allardyce thinks that a Newcastle United victory against bottom of the league Derby County on Sunday afternoon (2:00 pm KO), will mark what Sam calls a milestone for the club this season.

Sam Allardyce – we hope he’s doing this after Derby game on Sunday
We are going into the game on the back of two successive victories and a great draw at home to top of the table Arsenal.

So confidence right now has to be high in the team and the big man is definitely hoping the team will head into Christmas as the Premier League’s in-form team with 3 wins in a row.

The Newcastle manager told Newcastle World TV this morning:

“We have the chance to make it three wins in a row and that’s a great milestone to try to achieve,” “It would be a huge confidence boost going into Christmas and it keeps us on track for where we want to go.”

“Derby may be bottom but the game will be more difficult than people expect.” “Our players will have to show great effort and professionalism before using our skills to get the win.”

“It would also be great for the fans to give them some Christmas cheer because they have been magnificent in recent weeks.”

We’ve got to believe the team will be inspired to win the game on Sunday because that would make a great Christmas for the Newcastle faithful, who Sam rightly points out have been magnificent all season, in our view.”

What better Christmas present to give the fans than a win on Sunday?” “We expect the team will do just that, even though it will not be as easy as it looks on paper.”

We completely agree with Sam on this. What better way to give Newcastle fans all over the world a Christmas present, than with a win. And we don’t want to be too greedy but a good performance and a win would be even better. And if we could also keep a clean sheet then ………………

Whoops – getting carried away again. 😀

Wise words indeed – think we should play 4-5-1 for this one, or maybe 4-6-0

We will be watching the match in Pat’s Bar, Lagos. If we dont win this one, I doubt we will be able to go back!!

How can a team with aspirations of Europe this season even contemplate anything other than taking Derby apart. No disrespect to Derby, but this should be a walkover for us.

Anything other than a comprehensive win and BSA should consider his future at the club.

dont forget not that long ago Derby gave Chelsea a run for their money and perhaps should have come away with a point, so i think Sam is right

well we have to win this and the wigan game
if we say Derby are the new Watford and Brum are Sheff Utd this is the stats from last season compare

    Newcastle 0 – 0 Arsenal
    Newcastle 2 – 1 Brum (Sheff U)
    Fulham 2 – 1 Newcastle
    Newcastle 2 – 1 Watford (Derby)
    Wigan 1 – 0 Newcastle
    Chelsea 1 – 0 Newcastle

So like for like so far we are 3 points up on last season although I’m expecting close games against both Derby & Wigan we should win both, I’m trying not to think about Chelski

Sam walks on water and HAS improved the toon

We need to be patient and hope we get an early goal. If this happens and don’t concede a goal, we could go and get several more for a comprehensive win.

I’m hoping for a 2-0 or 3-0 win, but a win is a win and will take the 3 points of the scoreline!

I hope we win this friggin game. We need to improve our goal difference and this is a nice opportunity. If we are to try to squeak a Euro spot it may come down to goals because there seems to be a lot of quality above us at the moment. It would be good to see us galvanised from the start without having to concede a goal to get them pumped up.

Are people forgetting we actually lost to Derby at Pride Park! so I think we should be a little bit cautious as to approaching this match, saying we’ll thrash them, as the only game Derby have won this season, was against US!
I’m hoping for the win & to do what other teams did to them & get 4 or 5 past them but I will be still as happy if only 1 passes their posts!
Sorry for being a downer but I’m also being realistic!!
