There’s been a lot of publicity regarding the foreign defenders Sam has brought into Newcastle in the summer.
Habib Beye – former Marseilles skipper playing well for the Magpies
They’ve taken a little time to settle into the ways of the Premiership but there are now good sings that they are adapting well. Recent performances from Habib Beye, Claudio Cacapa and David Rozehnal suggest they are really coming to grips with English football. We certainly hope so, and that has to auger well for the rest of the season.
There are lots of changes in England for these players, not least of which is the big Christmas program ahead. Sam talks about this today and how it will affect our foreign players:
“When you look at some of the foreign players they are coming from leagues where they have a nice break over Christmas. They won’t get that this time.â€
“It’s going to be hard for them, but we’ve warned them they are prepared for it. They’ve already had to get used to a new style of football, but this will be a massive culture shock for them as well I’d imagine.â€
As we suggested there are signs that most of the foreign players Sam brought into the club are really adapting now. The proof of the pudding is in the eating, and we’ll know on Sunday if this is real. A win against Derby is what we need, and anything less will be a Christmas disappointment for Newcastle fans all around the world.

Comment #3Beye is a different class to the rest of the players Sam bought. He could easily slot into the Liverpool, or Chelsea team. We were very lucky to get him.
If Sam does buy any more foreign players, PLEASE BUY SOME WITH PACE!
