Sam Needs Everybody Fit and Ready To Go

Newcastle United manager Sam Allardyce has now been at the helm of Newcastle United for over 7 months, and he is pleased that the fitness of his players is now starting to show through.

Sam Allardyce – his fitness regime is working well

Obviously as a game goes on the fitness starts to show through, and Newcastle certainly keep going for the full games, having won both their last games near the end. With any luck at all, we could have also had a winner against Arsenal, when we had a few corners right at the end of the game, and Steven Taylor almost scored.

Newcastle have two wins on the trot and the City of Newcastle is beginning to eliminate some of the gloom and doom which descended when the team could only manage a single point in 6 games recently.

Sam talked about the fitness of his players yesterday:

“The players are looking like they are getting to the top end of their match fitness and that’s very important going into the Christmas period,” “That’s very pleasing because we have now won two late games in a row.”

“Fulham was a very difficult place to go but because we have prevented them from scoring we always had a chance to win the game.”

“Now we have to get all of our players back fit and get them up to the level of the rest of the lads because we’ll need everyone on board next month when we are losing four players to the African Nations Cup.”

It’s a great time for the team to start putting together a winning run which will take us up the league. It’s got to be a must-win game against bottom placed Derby County at home on Sunday. The perfect result would be 3 points and a clean sheet, and that’s what we are hoping for. That will be a good Christmas present from the lads.

the only reason i can think of sam allardyce not playing jose enrique because he might think he will be injured and we will not have sufficient players in january where 4 players will leave for africans cup. BTW i am going for a 3-1 , 4-1 OR 4-0 VICTORY over derby.

its a massive boost having the likes of joey barton and cacapa rekindling some their form as we come into a hectic xmas period. the next 2 games against derby and wigan are must win games and we need to take the points from these games without being disrespectfull to either of those teams-we are a better side. we’ve shown we can win scrappy games i just hope for our fans that the football becomes better on the eye (although a win is primary, secondry a clean sheet) Result for NUFC v’s DCFC 3-1 Haway the lads. Merry xmas to all

If Enrique is fit, surely this is the perfect game to bring him back in and get Zog and Milner back on the wings where they belong and where we want to see them. Here’s my preferred team for the Derby game, although I dont think its the one Sam will pick :

    Beye Cacapa Roz Enrique
    Milner Barton Emre Zog
    Viduka Martins

I’d be happy to have Taylor in place of either CB, and I think Sam will play Smith instead of Viduka….
