Cacapa Wants Goal For Newcastle’s Fair Fans

Claudio Cacapa says he knows Newcastle fans are very fair, and therefore the Brazilian is not too nervous about playing in front of them against Derby County on Sunday.

Claudio Cacapa – thinks Newcastle fans are very fair

Of course Cacapa played very poorly the last time he appeared before the Newcastle faithful at St. James’ Park. That was the hopeless game against Portsmouth, but Claudio rightly says that is now history. Claudio doesn’t think the Newcastle fans will hold that against him.

Here’s what Claudio told the Evening Chronicle on Friday afternoon:

“I have no worries about going out there on Sunday,”“I have only been here a short while but I already know that the Newcastle fans are very fair, and what happened against Portsmouth is now very much in the past.”

“So too, I suppose, is the goal I scored in front of our fans against Spurs in October, but another one like that would not go amiss on Sunday.”

One thing we like about the players Sam brings in to play for him, is they seem very mature and all have excellent attitudes. It’s no different with Cacapa, and he was probably the person most disappointed with his performance against Portsmouth, but he’s right to say he cannot do anything about it now.

But he can do things about games ahead of him, and that of course is what he is concentrating on. Another goal on Sunday from Claudio against Derby County would be great, but a solid performance is hopefully in the works too. Of course, it isn’t a certainty that he will start on Sunday, but we do expect him to make the starting line-up, and he will most probably partner Steven Taylor at the center of our defense. That’s a combination we are looking forward to seeing.

We’re sure Cacapa will do just fine on Sunday, and we know for sure the Newcastle fans will give him all the support he needs. Hopefully Cacapa can help us keep a clean sheet and get us all 3 points – we need them.

Comments very welcome.

I think the fans will give him a warm welcome back at SJP. He had a very good game at Craven Cottage, with some excellent moments. Considering that he was a surprise starter I think he did a smashing job and I’m looking forward to seeing him back in the starting 11.
