Very Merry Christmas For Newcastle Fans

The situation for Newcastle United Football Club tomorrow afternoon is almost perfect.

Sam Allardyce – Newcastle have great chance to give fans a perfect Christmas box

We have won our last 2 games and we are at home against the bottom club, Derby County tomorrow afternoon, whose only previous win this season was against us at Pride Park. We want to avenge that defeat and a win will also guarantee Newcastle fans across the world, a very Merry Christmas.

Sam talked about the team not being ruthless enough:

“The key for me is converting the chances we’re creating, we’ve won games, but not as comfortably as we should have done,” “Chances have gone that should have been converted. Birmingham was a penalty and a corner, Fulham was a penalty.”“Open play goals have become few and far between in recent games, but it’s not because we’re not creating chances, it’s just we’re not making the most of them when they are presented.”

“Anything less than playing to our maximum against Derby will mean we’re caught out, that’s the last thing we want after building our confidence in the last few weeks.”

“These games can be harder than the likes of Arsenal coming here, in terms of motivating the players. The jolt we got against Birmingham City when they went ahead after starting well proves the point.”

We now have 4 points from our last 2 home games against Arsenal and Birmingham City. We need to make that 7 points from our last 3 games tomorrow by this time. That will then be 3 wins on the trot, and a very merry Christmas for Newcastle fans.

We can’t think of anything better.

shame owen didnt make it back , im looking forward to seeing him in the team when we play like we did against arsenal ect .
as much as i like oba , i know for a fact owen would have put some of the chances away oba’s had .
if we grind out a win tommorow ill be gutted , need a show of dominance to get some revenge for that pathetic loss away against them .

    ack why?
football is about pride !!! , i get no pride from scraping a win against teams with players on half the toon’s salary .
i get a bit of pride from the lads representing us going out and smashing them!! , none of this pen in injury time malarky .
i wanna see our defenders snapping their players , our wingers showing off , and our strikers knocking them in .
    THIS IS SPAR……Newcastle!!

at the end of the day its about putting points on the board, the performance is a bonus although i’m confident this will happen tommorrow. i reckon the likes of charlie, milner, oba and possibly butt will be smartin from that last performance at pride park. expect big things tommorrow. Ha’way the lads……….

o and considering everton lose against man u and blackburn lose against chelsea is it there playing i think we will only be 3 points of 6th spot and as long as we strnthen in jan with quality players we are well in ncontention for europe

Hadrian, we don’t have the points to complain about who we’re beating. If we were all glory supporting Manyoo fans than i could totally be on board with you. But we need every point we can get right now to qualify for Europe. We should walk into St. James’ tomorrow and slaughter Derby like…well the Rams they are.

As much as I’d love us to batter the rams, Sam doesn’t play the style of football to do that. His approach is much more defensive and physical. So expect a hard fought 2-0 win.

Hes keeps going on about being more ruthless, but his formations dont allow it, hes been saying it alot lately so maybe its 4-4-2 tomorrow? 🙂

4-4-2 worked pretty well for us earlier in the season before that bad run of form. We played it against hammers, spurs, toffees and scored 3 in each game. What formation did we play on opening day against Bolton?

Tripp we played 4-3-3 against Bolton.

I think 4-3-3 works, Alan Smith from the front is a little shit for defenders so he should stay there. You lads heard about the possible swap of McCarthy and Viduka?
