Mark Viduka Shows The Way Forward

We’ve had lots of half chances in our recent games and haven’t converted too many of those, in fact not many at all.

Mark Viduka – set great example when he converted his chances on Sunday

But Australian Mark Viduka showed the way with a couple of superbly taken goals.  And Sam was quick to point out that Mark had shown the way forward for the other strikers at Newcastle.

Sam told the Shields Gazette this morning:

“It shows how important he is.” “In many other areas we’re creating chances, and they’re falling to different players, who aren’t converting them.”

“Mark Viduka’s shown the way forward. He probably had about three chances, and he converted two. The other players on the front line and in midfield need to start getting that conversion rate up.”

“For us, we also need the back lads to be a little bit more solid and dependable.”

Viduka now has 5 Newcastle goals to his name, in just 9 starts and 13 appearance for Newcastle. That makes him second-top scorer behind the leading 7 goals Oba Martins has in his 14 starts and 20 appearances overall. A couple more goals from Mark today would certainly be very nice indeed.

Comments always welcome.

viduka remains one of the more consistent strikers in the premier league and i feel his better starting and being replace late on, then coming off the bench at the end of a game. so lets hope he starts today, when he came on at fulham, he held the ball up well and let players move past him which was sorely missed in the previous 70mins and in newcastles play throughout the season, i feel this is the real problem we’ve had with scoring this season, not getting enough quality ball and players running of each other in the final third.
