Geremi – I’m Still Newcastle Captain

Geremi has spoken to the Newcastle Evening Chronicle and as far as he knows, he’s still captain of our club.

Geremi – still captain of Newcastle?

Geremi talked to the Newcastle Evening Chronicle yesterday:

“Alan will be captain when I am away at the African Nations.” “The manager told me the decision for him to be captain was to get him ready for the responsibility while I’m gone.”

“As far as I know that is the case.” “We are disappointed because it brings to an end our unbeaten run.” “It is a big disappointment because we didn’t expect Wigan to beat us.”

“We had some possession but, unfortunately, weren’t able to make the breakthrough. You know when you play against a team like Wigan they will strong from set-pieces and we need to be aware of it.”   “They scored from a set piece and it was the only real chance they had.”

However, after the game Geremi tried to keep the players’ mood upbeat on the bus. But Oba Martins and Jose Enrique were seen to be very upset at the performance of the team. In fact Jose seemed upset when he was on the field near the end, and seemed very frustrated with it all. That’s probably because Enrique has hardly played in the last 4-5 games.

Geremi, who will face his former team-mates at Chelsea on Saturday, added:

“We have to stick together, especially in the next few days because we have a lot of matches.“We must keep our chins up as we have a big game with Chelsea.” “We need to recover very quickly.”

Good words from Geremi, but the game at Chelsea will not be easy. They are a very good team unlike our last two opponents. Obvious apologies to all Wigan and Derby fans reading this. 😀

This is turning into a farce.

How can smith be “permanent captain for now” thats a self contradicting sentence.

either he is permanent captain or he is just captain for the AN.

Someone tell us who captain is definitively.

This goes well for us does`nt it.
Smith reckons he is the new captain, and Geremi says he is but AS only has it until after the Africa Cup of Nations. But AS reckons SA has told him he keeps it regardless. So where does this leave Geremi.
Is it any wonder we are playing crap, if the players do not know who is captain, how on earth are they supposed to listen and know what they are being told by SA. Afterall he confuses us with his selections and we have brains, what about the poor brainless players. Bless them.

OH this is just a complete and utter joke. Now would be a good sensible time for Sam to step in and do the right thing and clear things up..but no, that’s not going to happen anytime soon. Now technically Geremi was captain, but now Smith is the captain, preparing or not, he’s the captain but realistically there are only 2 or 3 players on the pitch who people listen too and it doesn’t contain either of them.

Yesterday stupid Smith as captain today Geremi says that he still is the captain.

WOW WE’VE GOT A FANTASTIC MANAGER WHO KNOWS HOW IMPORTANT GOOD COMMUNICATION BETWEEN HIM AND THE PLAYERS IS!!!

This again prooves that SA doesn’t know what he is doing…

Cacapa or Beye for captain and stop the nonsense about who will be our captain. Those 2 have prooved they are fantastic captains from 2 good teams. We just give the captaincy to a silly tackler who likes to shout to the referee.

SA what are you doing with our club????

I think Geremi was Allardyce’s choice for captain as Allardyce thought he would be good enough to be in the starting 11 every week, however this has not been the case.
I think Allardyce needs to select a captain who will be playing week in week out when fit and as Allardyce still dosent know his best starting 11 well this could prove difficult!
The only players who I would imagine will play every week if fit are Given, Beye, N’Zogbia and Milner therefor Id give captaincy to Given or Beye.
