Andrew Carroll Off To Motherwell On Loan

Andrew Carroll, our exciting young 6’3″ local striker, who is on a 6 months loan spell at Preston North End, is unlikely to return to Newcastle in January. It looks like Carroll will be loaned out to Scottish Premier Club Motherwell, when his loan spell ends next week at Deepdale.

Andrew Carroll – 18 year-old probably off to Motherwell for rest of season

Andrew’s loan spell finished at Preston next week and it appears that Scottish Premier League side Motherwell are very interested in signing the player on loan for the rest of the season. We think that deal will be acceptable to Big Sam who would like Andrew to get as many game sunder his belt as possible this season.

That didn’t really happen at preston, where Andrew found it difficult to get many games at Deepdale. He played just 7 games ther and scored a single goal. However, these things happen when a player is still learning his trade but we’re sure Allardyce wants him to play more games in Scotland.

Andrew turns 19 years old on January 6th next year, and looked an exciting player in pre-season friendlies during the summer, especially in the game against Juventus, when he scored his first goal for the club. And that was against Italian Gianluigi Buffon, probably the best goalkeeper in the world right now. After the game Buffon said he thought Carroll displayed some excellent touches, and thought he could become a top striker.

Tim Krul – likely to extend loan at Falkirk

We have high hopes of Carroll, and hope he gets a lot more games at Motherwell. He’ll be joining 19 year-old Dutchman Tim Krul, who will probably stay the rest of the season to keep goal at Falkirk. Tim’s played really well for the Scottish club this season, and has had many rave reports from up there in Scotland. He’s a very promising young goalkeeper, to say the least.

bring him back to newcastle please. he will put more passion in than any of our strikers we have now, he is a real talent and if we play him then he will only get better- no better experience than premiership experience…

Certainly going to Preston has done him no favours.

With the lack of goals we are scoring at present, would it not have been better to have brought him back to toon and give him a chance in the first team. He could even play as centre half, or fullback, goalkeeper etc.
    Good luck to him.

If he can’t hold down a place at Preston, then surely he isn’t ready for our first team – especially with the tough run of games that we have coming up.

On the other hand, Krul has been looking good at Falkirk – we could do worse than send Andy up to Scotland for some more experience.
