that comment was made out of depression. Now i am thinking straight we are still improving. Better defence, and we played well going forward against Man City. In fact, our only proper problem was not converting our chances. I watched the match aswell so i know exactly how we played. Most people will agree we played very well for most of the game.

City played spart, but were not of the level of the EPL top 4. So if we get beaten at home by those teams then we have to start questionning ourselves were we will end?

For one more time I really was hoping that when I opened this site that I would read the announcement of SA who got sacked today, but again I'm disappointed. How long will it go before something is done? When it is too late and when we are in a relegation battle, cause that is where this will end when nothing changes.

I have to admit that I really was excited when SA was our manager, not for his tactics, but for his transfer policy. I still believe that 7 from the 9 new players are good. Barton not included, because of the all knowing reasons and Smith for me is overrated. Enrique is a player who can be better, but not in this way. He got on the field and he has got nothing of confidence. That is the problem with the others also, when you look:

- Cacapa; played 4 or 5 fantastic seasons in Lyon and now he looks so nervous every time when he gest the ball.
- Rozehnal the same started very good and then confidence completely gone.

I can go on for hours with all the players.

So we really have qaulity in our team, but the quality is used in a wrong way and so you loose the most of the quality. For me that is the biggest part in which SA fails; he is not able to creat a winning atmoshere in which every player has got 200% of confidence.

lets face it guy's we are sh*t!!! did anyone really think we would win last night? The team, the fans & the management are at an all time low. In your own job if that were the case things wouldnt get any better until you left or your boss left.
Im not keen on sacking manager after manager, but face the facts. SA was not ashleys choice, a lot of the players where inherited & SA's tactics are questionable (ie Zog at left back, Jimmy at left side of midfield, the change of centre backs , midfield & the shape of the team)
The media are on the fans case for having an opinion, jesus we aint won anything for nearly 50 years!!! however its ok for the scousers to boo liverpool & call for rafas head because they are not top!!! get a reality check, it's easy to support a winning side. We never booed king kev when we didnt win the premiership, just applauded for the wonderful football & honest endeavour.

get roeder back and make sam his assistant or transfer dude. roeder got a really depleted squad. i mean very thin squad with no much qualities.just look at last year defence and now.i think roeder can make us back to euro.im just too optimistic i think.

Dragonar... Exactly... A striker hasnt scored for ages, he is bound to score against us... A team hasnt won for ages, they are bound to win against us, a team hasnt gotten any away points for ages... well guess what?, they will against us... I cant beleive ppl talking about City playing great... They played wise and with good defense and contra... thats it. Its not like their playing arsenal football, and haven seen quite allot of them, its unbeleivable the luck they get this season.

oh well, we are the premiership whipping boys. Every bad record the opposition has is broken against us. it has gotten to the point where i dont care who or when we play next(although that will have changed by tomorrow). I just dont understand how a match that promised so much from us delivered absolutely nothing. We are at our lowest point, much like Tottenham were from the beginning of the season until the beginning of the holiday period.

I love Shearer like everyone else, but does he have the experience to organize a defensive and make average players into great ones over night? As much as I'd like to see the back of overpaid Sam, now is not the time.

We will lose to Stoke, of that I am 100% sure even before the City game tonight. But I still think Mort will Sam until the summer. After all it will cost him 30 million in wages (for him and back room staff) to sack him now.

On the plus side, I thought Owen was excellent tonight. His getting back into midfield to help out, and link up play was classic centre forward stuff. Simply a different class from the headless chicken of Martins.

One thing for sure. None of us thought we'ed be feeling like this at the start of the season. We have not made any progress whatsoever. It really is a bad time to be a Newcastle supporter.

No big fan of Sam - and think he should be replaced. However only when we have an alternative lined up. Until then we'll have to hold tight.

Given Man City's away record, tonight was one of our easiest fixtures this month; so it could be rough by the end of Jan. We should stay up, though no doubt on current form - that is the end of the table we are staring at.

Tonight was a perfect lesson in how to play 4-5-1. Sharp one touch passing to feet and players getting up to support the front man. After we had created a few half chances in the first half it could maybe be argued that we were unfortunate to go in one down. Why players should be so down and demotivated after the interval is an absolute mystery. Looks like Mogadon in the half time tea.

Sam has already suggested that we will only release players this January if they are unhappy. I just hope he doesn't get a surprise knock on the door from some of our better performers such as N'Zogbia. Probably not likely, I suspect any dis-satisfied players will bide their time until the summer.

It all might end up being a big waiting game until then.......

Play well 1st half, created plenty of chances, crosses into the box etc.

disappointed with Milner, Butt, Oba tonight. Too many players need too long on the ball, too many touches, slows the game down too much. Faye needs about 5 touches before he makes a pass and in my opinion is not dynamic enough. Butt takes too long on the ball and passing wan't great either. Milner, well shocker tonight, has he ever put a 1st time cross in?
N'Zogbia was great again, Beye was good, Centre halfs were OK too.
