New Youngsters Bedding in at Newcastle

Wesley Ngo Baheng made his Newcastle Reserves debut last night in the 3-1 defeat against Sunderland at Kingston Park last night.

Teenagers joining Newcastle this week – Wesley Baheng and Ben Tozer

We’ve signed two good youngsters so far in the January transfer window, 17 year old left back Ben Tozer, from Swindon Town and yesterday we finally got 18 year-old Wesley Ngo Baheng tied up, from French club Le Havre.

Allardyce pointed to the 18-year-old midfielder’s signing as another good example of the work Newcastle have been doing just below the first-team level, to ensure we have a good pipeline of young players coming through the club in the future.

Sam talked about young Baheng this morning:

“We’ve been waiting for his international clearance to come through, which has been frustrating,”

“He’s another one for the future following the signing of Ben Tozer this week and shows we are looking to strengthen at every level.”

We find it great that we are signing these young players who look so full of promise and potential.

But of course the first team’s performance will always take priority at the club, and we need a definite improvement in our performances there. January could be a tough month for us, with some daunting fixtures coming up, but right now we’ll be satisfied with some good strong performances. As long as we don’t have any repeats of the Wigan fiasco.

Comments always welcome.
