Diarra Prices Himself Out of Newcastle Move

Lassana Diarra seems to have has priced himself out of a move to Newcastle United by demanding £90K a week.

Lasssana Diarra – wanted £4.5M/year at Newcastle – no way

The 22-year-old Arsenal midfielder wants to leave The Emirates but has told Newcastle United he would only sign if they were ready to more than double his current £40K/week week deal at Arsenal.

Newcastle had apparently agreed a £5.5M transfer fee with Arsenal just before Sam Allardyce was sacked, but his latest demands will end that deal.

If Tottenham now want to pay those wages for the 22 year-old midfielder, they are welcome to the player.

And Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admits the future of Lassana Diarra is no closer to being determined, for the the out-of-favor midfielder.  When recently asked if there was any new news on Diarra, Wenger  said:

“Nothing at the moment,” “When we have some news we will give it to you, don’t worry!”

Comments welcome.

he might be worth those wages if he proves something in the next 2 years but NOT NOW.

Lets face i CANNOT see mort authorizing that.

Which is good we dont want over paid superstars,

we want players who work hard and DESERVE A PAY RISE.

Good news. If Arsene Wenger was willing to sell him, like Chelsea did, then it shows he is not good enough. If we are aiming to break into the top four, then we don’t want to be buying their unwanted players.

he aint even a superstar, hes average, there are far more, better candidates for cm or cdm, the only thing going for Diarra is prem experience.

Like I said last week, we shouldn’t be wasting our time chasing players like this. Go after Carrick instead.

I heard reports last week that Sam wanted to sell Taylor to Chelsea and Martins to Man City, and Mort saw that as the final straw.

AZ Alkmaar lost 6 – 1 today to Ajaz. Van Gaal’s team only midtable in the Dutch league.

Are we sure we want this guy or are we too impressed by his past achievements? Has he won anything in the last 6-7 years?!

Gordon – they were down to ten men after half an hour. That said, I think he is all wrong for Newcastle. A great manager in his day, but that was ten years ago.

We have to start to stop overpaying the players. So Diarra bye bye my son, we don’t need you, cause you’re nothing more than an average CM who wants to take as much money as possible.

If Wenger wants to sell him that quickly he defo ain’t that good.

Exactly, Dalglish was a great manager in his day too… but not now.

Don’t see anyone else going for him and to be coaching AZ is some comedown from Barcelona and the Dutch national side (where he was also awful)

If we’re going to give £90K to a midfielder, give it to DIEGO. Worth every penny.

i think its his temperament is why wenger wants rid, not his skill, the same happened at chelsea. so although he could be great that sort of character is the last thing we need.

Look, we just made a narrow escape, the guy is a problem, “big talent ,bigger ego”not a nutter like Joey, but potentially a problem child. Plus he was`nt interested in playing for the toon, therefor the unreal wage demand .The bright lights of London are an attraction that most northern clubs have to contend with.
It may be too much to ask but to take into consideration a prospective players character
may be worthwhile, on that note I would`nt turn down a Gazza or a Georgie Best.

On another theme. Is Souness for real!!!
Now he’s blaming Shepherd for everything and wants the job back.
What about the £3M he pocketed for abject failure, the fact no on else has touched him in 2 years, the aboslutely awful football, the endless excuses, Boumsong etc, etc. Allardyce by any other name!!

    You’re kidding right!? 9oK a week??!

This muppet wants first team football having spent more than a year warming the bench for both Chelsea and Arsenal. Is he serious??

Seems to have his priorities messed up…

He ain’t gonna be attracting offers of first team football from other big euro clubs so i don’t know WTF he’s on about.

    Doesn’t seem like he wants to play to me…So f-him i say…
