Barton Back at Newcastle Club

Newcastle United midfielder Joey Barton has surprisingly returned to training at Newcastle United – less than three weeks after being charged with assault in Liverpool, but Barton’s bail conditions make him unavailable to play for Newcastle.

Joey Barton – back at Newcastle – but cannot play

Newcastle Caretaker manager Nigel Pearson said this afternoon:

“Joey had to be introduced to training because at the end of the day, he is one of our players,” “He has got back in the last couple of days to basically assess his fitness, and we will go from there.”

“What I can tell you is that the bail rulings are in place,” “Outside of that, I can’t really comment because I am not totally au fait with the details.”

“All I will say that any rules and regulations which are in place will be met by us.”

The footballer was arrested along with Andrew Barton, 19, (Joey’s brother) and 27-year-old Nadine Wilson on Church Street, in Liverpool city center on Thursday, 27th December. Barton was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray

What we can surmise from the scant information available is that Joey has a drinking problem. It seems that Joey’s an alcoholic, and now throughput his life, he will either have to abstain from alcohol, and hopefully be OK – or drink and get into trouble. It’s that easy and that hard being an alcoholic. It looks like he had a relapse just after Christmas.

But we know he’s getting help from Sporting Chance Clinic in Hampshire and that his next hearing is scheduled for tomorrow morning in Liverpool. We don’t know if he has to attend that hearing in person.

Comments welcome.

    James – here here!

RE: deschamps….this is getting frickin’ silly now!! There is literally a new favourite for the job every bloody hour!! FFF say Houllier says he wont be leaving his role there, so dont look like it will be him. Dont even know what I think to Deschamps to be honest….might not be bad, but still very inexperienced in management terms.
I see Keegan’s percentage keeps rising in the poll you’re doing Ed….any more updates on him?

Steeley – I think these revelations about Managers in the frame is a betting scam. People have made lots of money during the last week.

Deschamps was kindly asked to leave his previous and only 2 jobs as a manager. Likes to play defensive football with 2 holding players….sound familiar?

Deschamps is rated very highly as a manager, both in France and Italy, and after reading about him I think he would be ideal for NUFC,better than Hughes,or even dare I say it Keegan & Shearer

Barton is a disgrace of a man. I heard he can be sacked if /when he goes to chokey and NUFC can still get some money back on him in the future. Chelsea did that with Mutu after he got done for nose candy crimes.
Does anyone know if that is true?

Regarding our managerial mess. I just cannot believe we are here again mid season. Is he Shepherd in disguise? I kin hope not!

Don’t understand all you who keep knocking Smith 110% every game, reminds me of Batty and Clark, not the most gifted, but never stops chasing – He’s not just here for the £.. rather 11 of him then 11 Viduka’s! Play him in the right position and reap the rewards!!!!

smith’s an idiot..running after the ball, like some kind of dog, attacking everyone, doesn’t even look if the opponent is in penalty area..he’ll foul him anyway and complainig all the time when he’s the only one to blame…plus he’s badmouthing to the referee!!! he’s good as BACK-UP striker!!! that’s it, but considering his nerves he should be sold…tonight…if possible!!! tommorow we’ll surely win..why? ‘cos smith won’t play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I beleive someone said we had a clause in his contract that Man City are obliged to have him back if he ends up inside, can anybody clarify this?

Now that would be a bonus for our new manager (whoever he or she might be) I have heard that Fay (can’t remember second name) the England womens coach is now in the frame. 🙂

I hope you are reading this jailbird Joey. I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt with your interview with Gaby Logan over the Dabo case. But you have proved again that you are just a mindless thug who has dragged the name of NUFC down even further……

I now hope your contract is shredded, you get at least five years and some big guy in the slammer sees you as a size zero blonde you half witt!!!

Smith is the worst player in the squad. Slow, cannot tackle fairly, always falls down when he tackles, a striker who has not scored for three years, uncreative….come on boys what can he do apart from being committed …… collecting yellow cards and getting sent off now and again

Give the kid a break, its hard to know what goes on in his head, but he has had a pretty tough up bringing and you dont know what that can do to a person psychologically.
Man Utd gave Cantona another chance after all his shite and assault on the spectactor, that paid off!
Its more than likely he has goated by some money chasing idiot.
