Sir John Hall – a life president of Newcastle United admits he was “astounded” by Keegan’s return to Newcastle last night.
Sir John Hall – astounded by Keegan Return
John Hall sold his family’s majority stake in Newcastle United to Mike Ashley last year – and of course it was Hall who brought the 56-year-old to St James’ Park for his first spell in charge in 1992. Hall then poured money into the club to the brink of the title in 1995/96.
Sir John Hall told BBC Radio 5 Live this afternoon:
“We’ve got a magnificent stadium. The whole basis of the club is there” “It’s just been getting the manager right. Hopefully that will happen. He’s given everyone hope again.â€
“I was astounded. I never saw him coming back into the game but now he’s made that decision, it’s a fascinating appointment.”
“There is a buzz about the place,” “I was there and he’s certainly given people hope again.â€
“There’s a great expectancy he can revive the club as he did the first time he came as a manager.â€Â ‘s great news for the club and I hope he can do it.”
