Newcastle Chairman and Fans Love It!

Newcastle’s young Chairman Chris Mort says that Kevin Keegan is absolutely the right man for the club, after Chris was briefly interviewed on Sky Sports last night.

Kevin Keegan in the Milburn Stand last night

Kevin Keegan’s sensational return as manager was announced on Wednesday afternoon at around 4:30 pm local time, and took everybody by surprise. King Kev watched from the stands when he arrived with Owner Mike Ashley and Chairman Chris Mort, about 20 minutes into the game.

Newcastle made it through to the Fourth Round of the FA Cup with a fabulous 4-1 victory over Stoke City on Wednesday night with a display of attacking football, even after they had gone down to 10 men after Emre was sent off after 29 minutes Keegan was greeted with a standing ovation from the 35,000 crowd as he took his seat in the Milburn Stand directors’ box during the first half.

And Chairman Chris Mort spoke briefly on Wednesday night about the return of King Kev.

“We did not think we could get him back to the club.”

“But he is absolutely the right man for the club and we are delighted.”

The 56-year-old will officially be unveiled as the new manager on Friday afternoon, in a press conference at 2pm, in front of what is sure to be a worldwide audience. And the news is global in nature, as it is being reported all over the place, and it’s great and very exciting news for our club Newcastle United. 😀

The excitement begins again for the City of Newcastle Upon Tyne, and Newcastle United fans all around the world.

Comments welcome.

the best thing about the new manager is he is not going to be encumbered by our last managers crap signings. He has no preoccupation with playing smith and geremi because they are not his signings. The double suspension was a godsend because we finally got to see an attacking team without Beavis and Butthead running around in the middle of the ground

I am in wonderland!!! If any man could have sparked such celebrations its Keegan, f*ck mourniho, hitzfield and all the other people linked with the job. This is massive.

What a turnaround to last week, we have a great squad we just need someone to inspire them and we have our man…..

I cant wait to see mike ashley open up his chequebook and we sign some big name stars….

Most betting websites have taken Newcastle of their betting for this weeks game against bolton, I think were gunna give them a hiding.

when i first heard of the appointment, i had second thoughts. first thing i did was get on the blogs. i was too young during Keegan’s first reign. but after reading how many old Geordie fans were celebrating Keegan’s return, it now just feels so right. so forget about Fat Sam now…

    GO KING KEV!!!!

EVERYBODY SING ALONG! (after the tune of Football’s Coming Home! It was sung after Shearer signed for us!)

Welcome back to the Home of the Entertainers!
Watch how football should be played. I’d go for 4-3’s than 1-0’s anytime! Even if we lose 4-3’s like the ones against Liverpool donkey years ago, we lose beautiful! That’s why football’s called ‘THE BEAUTIFUL GAME’

    KING KEV, all the best!

Up for work hardly slept cos felt seasick riding on the crest of this wave.
Mike Ashley bought this club to enjoy himself and he aint seen nowt yet.
Please KK watch a recording of last nights MOTD and give Big Al ring and putmthe cream on all of our dreams.
You love this club so ensure the future. In years to come you can sit back in ya rocking chair n watch the Toon winning trophy after trophy under Shearer thinking i started all that again and groomed the apprentice.

    Keegan appointed – sensational!

sure this will give a lift to everyone at n with the club … truly hope that he’s learnt over the tactical naivety some pro have accused him of, and more importantly, he needs to have a 180 deg turnaround of his youth policy … look at Zog and Taylor! also search for n buy the rising young when possible, we need more Oba, Milner, Enrique, LuaLua …. groom more n buy more!

I am writing an article about keegan for the bulgarian television that holds the rights to show the Premiership. I need some help with facts I am too young to remember clearly and can’t find in stupid statistical pages like wiki. Anyone up to give me detailed information on several points, please? Beware, I need all I can get so it may take some time to type it all! I would appreciate it heavily.

    Everyone happy and being nice to one another… . . . . . . . .

But, KK reign is only just ower 12 hours old and the papers are already at it – trying to cause a rift between KK and MO.

    Quite sad really.

    Hey Ho!…..
Thanks for the highlights Jinal!…….the match was not shown here in Singapore……

    The lads were sensational…..!!!!!

Now we’re playing football…..I think Nigel Pearson deserves some of the credits too…

Times are turning here… lads….the owner and chairman have done their dues…..its our time now……

We have to give time and patience….to KK and back him up whenever we can…..

It’s time to relax…..stand up and enjoy the games!……I’d love to have a 5-0 replay when Man U comes in to play in SJP…..maybe not this season…..maybe not the next..
