Nigel Pearson said after the game that he was absolutely delighted for the players after the great 4-1 FA Cup victory over Stoke City at St. James’ Park last night.
Nigel Pearson – great job by him and the players
After the tragic game against Manchester United on Saturday, when we were slammed, 6-0 Pearson said:
“After Saturday’s performance it was vitally important that we had the right sort of performance tonight.” “At the end of the day, players have to look in the mirror and ask if they are doing enough.”
“I’m absolutely delighted for the players tonight because they have gone a long way to getting that back.” “There were a lot of contributing factors tonight – it was a different game, and we imposed ourselves a lotâ€
Pearson said it was impossible to say exactly what affect the arrival of Kevin Keegan as manager had on the players, but we think he can take credit in that he got the players ready even though he was helped by the appointment.
Hey we won – that’s the most important thing – and now we need 3 points against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday. 😀

Comment #4great result by the lads. Come Ashley hand Keegan a big kitty now and in the summer. New midfielder by the weekend please.
We will have no one to play in the middle of the park on the weekend, if Emre’s suspension is immediate.
Any ideas lads.

Comment #9Please Shearer as an assistant and then buy Arshavin, Kadar, Ragnar Sigurdsson(from IFK Göteborg was voted the best defender in the swedish premier divison and compared to Daniel Agger and only 21 years old), Marek Cech and Jimmy Briand from rennes and sell Shola

Comment #10SUNDERLAND FANS, DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON YET ANOTHER REPLICA TEAM STRIP. SIMPLY STRAP A LARGE PLASTIC PENIS TO YOUR HEAD. IT WILL THEN BE PERFECTLY OBVIOUS TO EVERBODY WHICH TEAM YOU SUPPORT.

Comment #11Keegs4Eva.. how are they gonna strap a plastic one next to the real one? Surely there wouldn’t be the space.

Comment #12I feel a bit sorry for Pearson – he comes in under impossible circumstances and does a better job than BSA could ever do, delivering a fantastic performance and our first good spudding of an opposition all season.
And what do the media all say? “It’s because Kev’s back!” A bit unfair. Waking up this morning wouldn’t have been so sweet if we’d played badly and been knocked out.
Credit to Big Nige – grand job.

The only Downside in this whold Saga is that he won’t get the Credit he Deserves for last nights display.
Duff, Milner, Emre and N’Zogbia all on the same pitch and in Midfield Positions, Delicious!
