Newcastle United to top off one of the most exciting weeks in recent memory by ensuring they beat Bolton Wanderers at St, James’ Park tomorrow, to help celebrate Kevin Keegan’s return to his club.

The Newcastle Chairman and Manager - Chris Mort and Kevin Keegan
Newcastle United now have 26 points from the first 22 league games and have managed to lose the last four games against Wigan, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United. In the process of collecting no points, we’ve conceded eleven goals and scored one. Before those games our goal difference was -2 but now it is -12. Â
In addition to picking up all 3 points tomorrow, it would be nice to see the lads attack, like they did against Stoke City on Wednesday evening. We actually have quite a few good attacking players.
It will be a much harder game of course, but we now have Keegan in charge, and we think the players will be extra keen to impress their new manager. It would be nice to be able to fire a few goals home to give the capacity crowd something to treasure, for Kevin’s first game back.
The players have now met Kevin, some of them for the first time, and we’re quite sure he will inspire the pants off most of them, especially the youngsters like Taylor, N’Zogbia and Milner. We are expecting a good attacking display from the lads and good games from the 3 youngsters.
We hope the players’ homework for tonight is to watch a rerun of the Newcastle press conference this afternoon.
After watching that, they should realize they are playing for a very special club with a very special manager. We expect them all to be inspired to produce of their best tomorrow. If they are not then there’s probably no hope.
But we think after the game tomorrow, there’ll be plenty of hope around St. James’ Park.
Comments welcome.

No one’s mentioned Emre’s 3 match ban or did I miss that?
Fingers crossed for tomorrow and we may see the team play more to it’s potential. Hopefully we’ll have more than 10 players for most of the match.
Expectations for tomorrow is to see the players play football and with a little more pride, anything more is a bonus.

Totally agree Ed. Apart from what you said above, United are only 6 points above a relegation place……..I know, I know, but its still a bit too close.
With Kev in charge, it’ll now be excitement all the way - like he said today - we work hard all week, and we look forward to the match as the highlight of the week. Haway the Lads - lets stuff Bolton tomorrow and take off big time :o)
As I’ve mentioned in the other comments - If anybody missed the Press conference - I’ve put it on my You Tube channel - just click on the UTD111 above or use the address http://www.youtube.com/utd111 - I’ve had to split it into 4 files because of the limits YT puts on uploads but its all there.
Cheers - Mick

deco would be news to me!
12 Wynn the Leap // Jan 18, 2008 at 21:28
We all want 3 point the morn, but let’s not go nuts if we don’t get them. Kev had a massive job when he took over from Ossie. He has a bigger job this time round. As individuals, our players aint as good as he thinks and nowhere as good as they think. Kev can’t get by on motivation and our passion alone. So let’s be realistic for the first two or three games. He’s gonna get us there.

After our impressive display at Stoke I’m picking a win for the lads. How about a team like this:
———————-Given————————-
-Taylor——-Rozehnal——–Cacapa——Enrique-
–Milner————–N’Zogbia————–Duff–
———Carroll——————-Viduka———
————————Owen———————-
42 Tom_Toon // Jan 18, 2008 at 23:03
