Keegan Not After 0-0 Draw at Emirates

Kevin Keegan will not ask his players today at the Emirates to sit back and try to force a 0-0 draw with Arsenal in the 4th round of the FA Cup.

Kevin Keegan – will not curb players’ natural attacking instincts

Keegan said today:

“The cup throws up shocks at times and for most people it would be a shock. But I’ve said to the players this week, ‘What do we want to go there and do?’,”

“Obviously the aim is to still be in the competition come 5pm on Saturday. But we have to be courageous when we have the ball and try to cause them problems.”

“We’ve got the players to do that. It’s no good asking players such as Michael Owen, Charles N’Zogbia, Damien Duff and James Milner to go there and sit back and try to get a goalless draw.”

Good for Kevin, because we always think it’s a little silly to go and try to get a draw at any ground. There’s a win up for grabs, and that’s what we should be going for – a sentiment expressed very well recently by our ambitious owner Mike Ashley.

Arsenal and hopefully Newcastle United under Kevin Keegan, should be two of the best attacking sides in the Premier League. We think we’ll get a good open game today in London.

Today’s game should not only be open with lots of good attacking play, but also enjoyable for the fans – what a concept.

Comments welcome.

“0-0 Draw at Emirates” in our dreams.

I don’t think any of our recent former managers could ever have achieved that.

Lets just have a go and see what happens – and enjoy the ride :0)

Just my own personal opinion but if we were to get a result from the next two matches, I would rather take 3 points than think about a stumbling run in the FA cup. Lets get stability in the team first, a few more points on the board (only have to look over our shoulder to see how close the smoggies and the unwashed are) and see if we can push for an Inter Toto cup spot. Would be great a day at Wembly, and possibly a spot in Europe, but lads, lets keep our feet on the ground ! ! !

No lets be greedy and optimistic and have wins in this match plus many more, thats the stability I want. With a winning mentality.
