Viduka Back For Arsenal Game

Mark Viduka will return to the Newcastle United side tomorrow night, when they return to the beautiful Emirates Stadium for tomorrow’s Premier League game with Arsenal.

Mark Viduka – will definitely feature against Arsenal tomorrow

Emre is still suspended and will miss his 3rd game of a 3 game suspension after seeing a straight red card against Stoke City. Emre will be ready for Sunday’s game against Middlesbrough, and we think he’s looking forward to playing for the new attacking Newcastle side, under Kevin Keegan.

Shola Ameobi is still not 100% match fit and will probably not be involved again tomorrow night, although he needs games to be match fit.

Keegan told the Evening Chronicle today:

“Mark Viduka will definitely be back for us at Arsenal tomorrow night.”“As he had been out for a week I told him to stay at home over the weekend and get himself a little bit sharper.”

“I was always intending to play Mark on Tuesday because I want to have a look at different combinations and that’s not me rotating, it’s me honestly looking and searching for little things we can build on.”

Newcastle are down to the bare bones again, but Arsene Wenger may give a run out to some of his many youngsters available to him tomorrow night.

Keegan added:

“We sort of guessed Arsenal would play their strongest team against us on Saturday because of what happened to them at Spurs in midweek.”

“They could not really take a chance with us, but I would not be surprised if Arsene Wenger takes a chance on Tuesday night when he sees the video of Saturday’s game.”

“He will probably think he can cause us some problems with some of his fringe players he has got.”

It could be that some of our 4 African players could be back later this week, as both Senegal and Nigeria have only a draw to show in their first two games. It will be good to get the boys back, after so much has changed at the club since they left.

But of course we’d like for them to do as well as they can, while they’re out there representing their countries.

Comments very welcome.

Viduka will do a lot better job than Smith at holding up the ball.

    Owen should thrive off that.

they probably can harm us with some of their fringe players.

Lets hope we can put on a display for 90 mins this time. Be glad to have him back – looks like we need to make the most of what we have got as the tranfer window is rapidly closing and there are no iminent signings on the horizon.

Damn, thought Emre was back :( but yes I think the Duke will be better up front with Owen.

Smith is on borrowed time imo and he’s gonna have to pull his finger out or he’ll be gone in the summer.

he would but smith would actually move to get the ball! smith isnt as good but viduka is lazy.

Rather play Carrol up front with Owen, worth a go imo.

Ed I know you have to have some ads but those footy figures are bl**dy awful, does anyone actaully buy them. :)

Ed 0n reflection I probably shouldn’t have made the comment on the figures, it is purely a personal opinion. I am sorry if any offence was caused.

i cant wait till the lads are all back and fully fit and no suspended, or in bartons case in jail…. joking…

and we can play a full strength team, would love to see this

    given
    beye cacapa taylor enrique
    duff emre faye nzogbia
    martins caroll…

that is a strong team i think, but for the gunners my team would almost pick itself i think

    given
    carr taylor cacapa enrique
    milner nzogbia butt duff
    owen viduka

Good for Owen I guess. I just wonder what will happen to Smith then. I surely hope that KK does not play him in midfield, cause otherwise he will be Allardyce in disguise. Not willing to drop Smith to the bench because of unknown reasons.

Too bad Emre is still suspended. What harsch that was to get a 3 game ban. Strange if you see that Adebayor knocks down Bendtner and then 4 days later he can play. Big teams are everywhere overprotected by the associations…

when keegan says he isnt desperate for new signings then i believe he hasnt saw a game in years

  • 16 hanz-emre // Jan 28, 2008 at 6:42 PM

Viduka to start with Smith on to substitute the Aussie as KK wanted to build up & try variety of combinations.

  • 17 Bill f // Jan 29, 2008 at 12:44 AM

Leo why would you pick Carrol as your first choice then leave him out against Arsenal?

  • 18 Leo* // Jan 29, 2008 at 9:30 AM

simply because i think viduka will hopefully be able to use his strength and experience against a strong arsenal team. but for other games carroll is the man, he needs experience and will hopefully fulfill his potential
