Arsenal vs Newcastle United Teams – Enrique Injured

arsenal-fc-crest.png nufc-crest.png

Newcastle manager Kevin Keegan makes just one change to the side which was beaten in the FA Cup fourth round 3-0 at the Emirates on Saturday.

Jose Enrique misses out at left back, because of a late injury, and David Rozehnal comes in for the Spanish left back.

That’s a surprise move since the Czech player has looked uncertain at full-back this season, and he will be up against some fast wingers tonight. We would have liked young David Edgar to have been given a runout in the team.

Joey Barton returns to the Newcatle United bench, as expected, which also includes Shola Ameobi, after the local boy missed Saturday’s 3-0 defeat because of illness.

Arsenal start their strongest side, with Fabregas, Gallas, Hleb, Famini and Adebayor all in the starting line-up.

TEAMS

Arsenal: Manuel Almunia, Abou Diaby, Bacary Sagna, Cesc Fabregas, Philippe Senderos, Eduardo, William Gallas, Alexander Hleb, Mathieu Flamini, Gael Clichy, Emmanuel Adebayor
Subs: Jens Lehmann, Gilberto, Nicklas Bendtner, Justin Hoyte, Theo Walcott

Newcastle United: Shay Given, Stephen Carr, David Rozehnal, Claudio Cacapa, Steven Taylor, James Milner, Charles N’Zogbia, Damien Duff, Nicky Butt, Michael Owen (c), Alan Smith
Subs: Steve Harper, Shola Ameobi, Joey Barton, David Edgar, Kazenga LuaLua

Butt and Rozenhal in the middle of the park!

We’re gonna lose for sure now. No creativity at all.

Maybe Rozehnal with play RB and Carr LB ??
Don’t like Rozehnal as fullback – maybe Taylor will start there???

He is not playing left back. Nzogbia is!

The team has just been announced on BBC Radio Five Live (official Newcastle team sheet read out). Rozenhal in the middle and Nzogbia moved to left back.

Only other alternative is to put Barton in the center and Zog at left back. Only problem with that is the mess Barton is in and how well trained and how strong he is mentally.

I think KK made the safe and correct choice.

Guys, you’re not listening. Nzogbia is at left back. It has been confirmed by Newcastle. Roznehal and Butt in the centre.

    Owen and Smith up front.

    Barton on the bench

i hope this means that keegan might realise that he needs a left back cover in… one injury and it has screwed the team well and truely

oh crap, this is bad, we never get a break do we??

If it’s Rozy at LB then Ronaldo will murder us, if it’s Zog then Ronaldo will still murder us and we lose creativity too, fookin’ bollox…… 🙁

ToonKing – considering we are not playing Man Utd, we don’t have to worry about Ronaldo
