N’Zogbia’s Agent Causing Trouble – Again

4:12 pm, Thursday, January 31st, 2008 by Ed Harrison · 28 Comments

Charles N’Zogbia’s agent Willie McKay has said that Charles would be open to joining Tottenham Hotspur.

Charles N’Zogbia - unsettled at Newcastle again?

These were fueled by the player’s agent who confirmed the north London club were in talks with Newcastle and suggested the player would be interested in a possible switch. McKay went public today saying that the London club were ready to bid for the 21 year-old Frenchman. But Tottenham immediately denied they were going to bid for the former Le Havre youngster.

But here again we have an agent causing trouble between two Premiership teams, and what’s true is probably that Tottenham have been feeling out how Charles would react to a bid from them.

Of course, the agent gets a cut on any deal, so it’s in their best interests to have the players move around, and that often leads to uncomfortable situations clubs are put in – like this one.

But having already seen Woodgate move to Tottenham in preference to Newcastle, and then play excellently in last night’s Spurs draw at Everton – this will come as another blow to the Newcastle club.

Keegan has praised N’Zogbia’s since returning to St James’ Park – and only yesterday said he was not letting anybody leave the club in January. But it may well be that N’Zogbia has again become unsettled at the club, and is having his mind turned by the bright lights of London.

Keegan recently talked about Charles:

“I like him very much. He’s a player who never stops trying to do things.“He’s a player the opposition don’t want to play against.”

“He challenges you, comes at you and tries to take you on.”

So this may be a problem for the club to hold onto one of their brightest prospects – again. It will probably come a head in the summer, if he really is unsettled.

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse.

But hey, let’s get too down in the dumps – a good win on Sunday is all we need to lift the gloom – and we can certainly achieve that. :D

Comments very welcome.

Im not concerned at all this is all a load of old tosh. Hasnt N’Zogbia just signed a new 5 year deal? He is going nowhere, even if he did it would take an EXTREEMLY large amount of money to persuade NUFC to sell him. Dont worry lads, the Zog will be on the tyne for a while :)

Zog’s a man for the future and I would like to see him agree that! He should stop playing in silly positions, he’s a left winger and should it fight out with DUFF to play. It’s that simple!

Think ZOG wants to remember it was us that fought to keep him when Le Harve where kicking up about it and he also wants to remember he signed a five year contract, where is the loyalty, the amount of playrs Spurs has nicked off us in the past is annoying i’m really starting to dislike them, while Spurs are there they might aswell take Taylor,Milner and throw in Owen aswell….the greedy London pricks shoud feck off.

  • 21 ronaldeano // Jan 31, 2008 at 5:03 PM

Totaly agree Toon1978, the cockney fook pig’s. Anyway ‘LITTLE’ Willie Makay is also a prick, lets just leave them to it. Zog is goin nowhere

One thing if it is true and nzogbia has said he is unsettled and wants to go then make him buy himself out of his 5 year contract…I hope its not true but if it is we dont want players who dont want to be here..Another thing,I read a report saying he is unsettled because his family live in London…What is it with footballers these days christ!!!They are the ones earning stupid money if this is the case clubs need to have this in a contract too saying they commit to the club regardless of where the family live….Family shouldnt have any say in the matter but look at Solano,Dyer (Not that I was bothered about him like) But its getting a joke and it needs an end to it.

Bottom line we haven’t really missed anyone whom we sold to London of late (cept maybe nobbys sweet right foot).

Dyer, Parker, Bellamy – none have shone. Jenas has improved dramatically under Ramos. I was told we had signed Woody and my reaction was “it wouldn’t have bothered me if he’d gone tp Tottenham. Too many unknowns on his fitness and hunger for the game.”

Zog is our best midfielder with the potential to go on to great things. I don’t really blame him for wanting to be part of team that is on the up and playing attractive football.

So there lies the answer. That’s what we need to be doing to keep our better players.

The reality is apart from Given, Baye, Taylor and Zog – we could sell any of our squad and they wouldn’t be missed.

We need to raise our game. the players need to deliver what they are worth on paper.

And when they do, things will get better.

In the meantime, let us be patient and sing our hearts out for the lads.

willie mcKay (the bloke doesn’t deserve caps at the start of his name) is a money grabbing parasite that for too long has prayed on the players on his books – especially those that play for NUFC. This man is a crook and a liar (no need to say allegedly as it has been proved in the past) and should have no place in football.

Zog is the future of NUFC and i’m sure Kevin will assure him of that despite whatever the bent one is telling him.

Ashley – use some of your hard earned cash to pay for someone to see this low life off – if not just tell me where he lives…

I am not a Newcastle fan but surely what you need most is a new goalkeeper, this one lets in two many goals. Also another striker in case Owen gets injured again.Bestof luck. Sue

McKay is the most amoral trouble-making crap-peddling crooked agent to slime his way into the world of football. Why is he not in jail yet over the Amady Faye transfer?

  • 27 piman // Jan 31, 2008 at 8:17 PM

Can’t be doing with the zog moving out!

  • 28 piman // Jan 31, 2008 at 8:18 PM

Why is it that we have become such a laughing stock?
