Keegan met with the new Newcastle recruitment team yesterday and seemed to be happy at the outcome.
Kevin Keegan – good meeting with the new recruitment team
The four of them reviewed the Youth Structure at the club and Kevin also again denied being surprised by the news of the appointments, contrary to reports earlier in the week. We’ll see if any of the journalists choose to listen to that statement, since it does mean the Newcastle club knows what they are doing – not good news for the gossip journalists.
Keegan told Sky Sports today:
“It was a very good meeting, as I told you before, although it shocked a lot of people the announcement; I knew what was coming,” “I was fully informed and completely in favor of it. At the meeting we had on Thursday we just talked about everything.â€
“The three guys who came in, Tony Jimenez, Jeff [Vetere] and Dennis Wise have got to learn about this club as well and they went over to the academy to look at that.â€
“We talked about young players coming in and that will be the main thing that’s already started to some degree but it’s something that needed to be put in place at this football club.”
“So nobody from outside and certainly the fans, should look at it as anything but a good thing.”
We think these four, along with our young chairman Chris Mort have the opportunity to make Newcastle great again, and let’s not let the media get us down about Newcastle’s future.
If we don’t make it big again, it will not be because of lack of funds, ambition, or not having really good people at the club, running the day to day operations.
Not to mention having the best fans of any club around, real fans that is, who follow the club through thick and thin. Not those who only support teams who are top or near the top of the league.  😀

Comment #115just watching SSN and see keane saying that there is no room for sentiment in Football… then Keegan came on next saying that he thought there was….. this is a good sign for NUFC. KK has the power he always had and always will….. he can motivate. a good sign indeed….. many players will draw benefit from his comments tonight. He takes the money and the fame out the game and make players play… whoop whoop

Comment #119just for hoots and repetition
Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more;
Or close the wall up with our Geordie dead.
In peace there’s nothing so becomes a man
As modest stillness and humility:
But when the blast of war blows in our ears,
Then imitate the action of the tiger;
Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood,
Disguise fair nature with hard-favour’d rage;
Then lend the eye a terrible aspect;
Let pry through the portage of the head
Like the brass cannon; let the brow o’erwhelm it
As fearfully as doth a galled rock
O’erhang and jutty his confounded base,
Swill’d with the wild and wasteful ocean.
Now set the teeth and stretch the nostril wide,
Hold hard the breath and bend up every spirit
To his full height. On, on, you noblest Magpies.
Whose blood is fet from fathers of war-proof!
Fathers that, like so many Geordies,
Have in these parts from morn till even fought
And sheathed their swords for lack of argument:
Dishonour not your mothers; now attest
That those whom you call’d fathers did beget you.
Be copy now to men of grosser blood,
And teach them how to war. And you, good yeoman,
Whose limbs were made in England, show us here
The mettle of your pasture; let us swear
That you are worth your breeding; which I doubt not;
For there is none of you so mean and base,
That hath not noble lustre in your eyes.
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game’s afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry ‘Up the Toon, Newcastle, and King Kev!
