Michael Owen Right Behind Keegan

12:11 pm, Sunday, February 3rd, 2008 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 6 Comments

Michael Owen has come our right behind his new manager Kevin Keegan at Newcastle.

Michael Owen – captain fully supports Keegan

Owen said in the News of the World this morning:

“You cannot wave a magic wand because there is a lot of work to do,” “Kevin is a great manager and there is no doubt in my mind something exciting will be built here.”“He will give everyone a spark.”

“Obviously it’s hard to become confident when you are playing Arsenal twice in such a short space of time.” “Results have not been as good as they should have been and we are disappointed with our position in the Premier League.”

“With the players we have, we are better than our league position suggests – and we will turn it round sooner rather than later.”

“While some of the lads may be struggling for confidence at the moment, one of his great strengths is getting the best out of players.”

We hope to see an improvement in the form and confidence of quite a few of our players today against Middlesbrough. Certainly, a good performance and all 3 points will go a long, long way to cheering things up on Tyne-side.

And Michael is also due some goals today – fingers crossed.

Comments always welcome.

“Michael Owen has come out right behind his new manager Kevin Keegan at Newcastle.”

I think that’s somewhat unfortunate phrasing there Ed.

No news of the bench yet, but looks lik Milner is either rested or injured. Will be intersting to see the right wing. I have a feeling Duff will play there actually with Emre on the left wing.

that is an interesting team sheet. all i want is 3 points, no matter who’s playing.

owen is improving since keegan took control. he makes more runs, but still lacks the pace he used to possess
