@ Edd Case - I think it will have the opposite effect. Capello picked a very dynamic front line. All 3 players can play anywhere really and can create chances for others. Owen relies upon service, we all know that, maybe last night was a wake up that he needs to add another dimension to his game?!

But I do believe that he will leave and I hope we sign Ashton from WHU. Ashton is a very good footballer, and very intelligent. Alot like Sheringham was!

Owen would be good riddance, 8m and I'd send him packing. Bring in a lively african powerhouse striker instead, those are much more fun to watch than that scared welsh lad.

Duffer is back, and thats great news for all of us! He's a entertainer, can't wait to see him tear the Villa-defence to shreads.

I certainly wouldn't be sad to see MO depart for pastures new. I dont think his heart is really in Tyneside at all. His best days are behind him if we are brutally honest.

If we can get £10 mill (doubtful) it would be a good start to getting in a "proper" No9 to replace mary poppins. That will give Oba a lot more room to play off him and should bring a lot more goals for him.

Having 2 players up front, both scoring regularly for the toon, is how its always worked in the past and always worked well.

Edd Case - I'm not sure money's such a big worry for Newcastle at the moment. Last night's "snub" may be the incentive for Owen to start working hard for those goals. He may not have had the best service to date, but he netted 3 times against middlesborough. One of those was quite correctly disallowed, but the other we all know was a goal.

Maybe now, under this manager, Owen can finally get on with it. He is starting to look sharper. We really wouldn't want to sell him just as he finally gets his form back....unless he gets injured again, in which case, bye bye Owen. For Newcastle and England.

Hate to say this people but Owen not playing last night will for me at least, spell the end of him at Newcastle.

Owen is bound to blame Newcastle's poor season(s) on his snub by Capello and ask for a move in the summer.

Well, if I can come up with this, you can be sure the media will have already thought of this - so expect to see this all over the papers and net.

To be frank though, would it be such a bad thing? Especially if we could get around 10 million for him......
