Geremi Has Been Outstanding – Keegan

Geremi has been in good form for Cameroon at the African Cup of Nations – and his new boss Kevin Keegan thinks that will be good for Newcastle United, once he returns.

Geremi – has been playing well for Cameroon

Keegan told the Newcastle Evening Chronicle yesterday:

“I think Geremi has been outstanding.” “He has looked lively and very focused, and a major influence for Cameroon.”

“He’s one of the reasons they are in the final. Geremi is one of the key players in their team.”

“It’s been very good for him over in Ghana.” “But it’s also very good for us.”

Geremi has been starting at right midfield for Cameroon, but we think his best position may be right back, but he has not played well for Newcastle United so far this season, and was even relieved of his captaincy just before former manager Sam Allardyce was sacked.

In fact in some analysis we are doing for the summer, we think we should keep Geremi (only just) but as a back up at right back for Beye. We don’t think he’s good enough to play in our midfield since his passing has been very suspect.

Bu we also understand that players play differently for different managers and maybe Kevin can get the best out of him, when he returns.

The final of the African Cup of Nations is today at 5 PM local Newcastle time, and we certainly wish Geremi the very best of luck.

What was obvious from our latest league game yesterday which left is with 3 points from our last 9 games, with Manchester United to visit St. James’ Park in 2 weeks, is that Keegan has to start getting the best out of what we have – because it’s all we have – through the end of the season.

What do you think – please let us know.

Can’t see any reason for dislodging Beye at right back. One thing is clear though – he has to drop Butt. Maybe he sees Geremi fitting into the middle as the holding player alongside Zog or Emre. Another thing we all seem to agree on (us being such expert managers lol) – he has to play Faye at Centre Half – first name on the sheet for me.
    Cheers

He is praising them to get a reaction and keep us up this season and then he will ship them out in the summer and bring in his own lads ala last time he took over remember

He’ll big them up to get the most out of them, then sell them at the right time.

    UTD111; That’s two clear things. 😛

CRAIGG: These people will never learn, they will always jump on a manager without giving him any time.

It’s especially frustrating because these are the people that boo during the games and make us all look like a bunch of monkeys.

We can’t change them though, so there’s no point in getting angry about it. 😛

keep : enrique, taylor, faye, beye, n’zogbia, milner, martins…and sell the rest. with the midfield we have martins and owen can’t play together..no way. play youngsters! it can’t get any worse…at least they’re motivated…

oh and if we’re going to look for another keeper (i like shay..i think he’s one of the best, but it might be time for him to move on) i have only one proposition: samir “sarma” handanovic…the guy’s already as good as buffon…and he’s only 23!

    keeper
    beye taylor kadar(tozer) enrique
    milner lualua(bohang) faye n’zogbia
    martins carroll(zamblera)

Bollocks Ed Geremi has been starting right midfield for Cameroon! Not right back for Ghana!

It really worries me when you see people advocating that we keep mediocre to average players as cover for the good players. Surely we want top class cover for the best players. We can see what happens when the mediocre players ( I don’t need to name them do I) are played to cover the absentees. Personally I would put the youngsters on at least they are likely to put a bit more effort into it.
